LSD found in drug raid
(CNS): Police said this morning that four people have been arrested on various drugs offences during a police operation in George Town on Friday night that involved the search of two houses. Officers from the uniformed section carried out what police said was an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the seizure of an unrevealed quantity of drugs, which will be analyzed but police suspect to be cocaine, ecstasy and LSD. Along with the arrest of the two men and two women on suspicion of possession of cocaine, ecstasy and LSD with intent to supply, police said they had also seized a vehicle.
“Drugs are extremely destructive for communities and we will continue to target those involved in their use and supply,” said Inspector Adrian Barnett who led the operation. Police also noted that while the appearance of both LSD and ecstasy is not common in Cayman, this is not the first time police have seized both drugs.
Along with the drug operation police also arrested another ten people including three teenagers for various offences from assault to motor vehicle theft. One 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a restricted weapon, another 16-year-old on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary. A 20-year-old man and a 24 year old man were arrested on suspicion of consuming a controlled drug and a 23-year-old man on suspicion of possession of ganja. A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, while two men aged 37 and 55 were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. A 38-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a restricted weapon, and a 41-year-old man for suspicion of assault.

All persons calling Crime Stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.

You got that right future vision I heard ex MLA Franklyn Smith who gave his name on Radio describe this morning on Rooster how he told or wonderful police details of criminal activity by prisoners a year ago even took them and showed what was going on at the same location Sabrina Rankine was killed yet they did absolutely nothing as usual. But if your car ain’t licenced and you got one drop of drugs near you you going down. Until they clean up the police service we will suffer from this problem and like one poster wrote they will be coming to our houses next to kill us. And you won’t have your licenced gun to defend yourself either because they same to want to take that away too.
Good to know that some hard drugs were seized and persons associated with the hard drugs were caught also, but this is MINOR to WHOM the police has yet to catch, which is the KILLER/S of our long list of UNSLOVED MURDERS, MURDERERS are living amoung us and we are reeling in petty crimes.
Do we realize ifwe do not solve these murders we will continue to have more murders because when a person is mudered and its not desloved via justice that leads to revenge and justice for another to kill.
I read previously where the police said that THEY KNOW WHO THE KILLER/S ARE FOR SOME OF THE MURDERS, BUT THEY – THE POLICE – HAVE NO EVIDENCE TO CONVICT THE PERSON/S THAT ARE GUILTY OF THESE VICIOUS CRIMES. If they – the police- know who commited some of these deadly crimes then I suggest they torture the person that is guilty of the crime until they talk, for example, stick a hot needle under each finger nail of the person that they – the police- say did the crime, am sure the tough killer would become a wimp and confess to the crime.
REMEMBER THE POLICE SAID THEY KNOW WHO DID SOME OF THE MURDERS SO THEY WOULD NOT BE TORTURING THE WRONG PERSON.
We not seen nothing yet wait until a lot of those that we have sent to prison for petty stuff are released and cannot find a job because they have a bad police record, we have destroyed many of our young men by sending them to prison for petty crimes now they have no place in our society and they along with others that are of the same core will eventually destort the essence of Cayman being a safe paradise no matter how many police we have.

Good Job Adrian…This is the sort of operations that need to be carried out….when you start turning over rocks and the cockroaches run, then you find out about all kinds of other offenses and it is only by starting with the bottom rungs and working up that you find yourself at the top of the ladder….DO NOT be disuaded by those who would put down these kinds of ops…they are not glamourous and do not make for good sound bites on the evening news….BUT THIS is what policing is all about and this is where it starts…..KEEP IT UP…start with Georgetown and move outward…when you you do you will see the community start to come forth and give you more information….this is how you regain the trust and respect of the community….start at the grass roots level….
Good to hear police are at work- if we can get a handle on the drug situation, it will significantly reduce a lot of other crimes. I hope we one day get to the point where parents are held accountable when minors break the law.

DO NOT RELAX or ease up, contiue to keep criminals on the run until they are out of breath. You can do it. Ever remembered trying to catch a chicken for sunday dinner back in the day when you were young. We run that fowl down, through bush, across the pond , up hill and down hill until he just stoped short out of breath under a tree and called it a day while deciding , be caught or die of a heart attack .
