Dog-walker finds ganja haul

(CNS): A man out walking his dog discovered a suspicious package, which has turned out to be 50lbs of ganja with a potential retail street value of about $225,000. Police say the drugs were found by the man more than two weeks ago in the Salt Creek area of West Bay in some bushes. Police say that on Wednesday, 4 November, they were alerted to the scene when the private citizen made the report.

Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS). All persons calling Crime Stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.

    This story reminds me that a couple decades ago, a black plastic wrapped bail of g washed up on my folks’ beach on Old Robin Road.  My Dad immediately called the authorities.  My Mom said "Not so fast!"  Dad won.  HA!

    What makes you think it wasn’t 100lbs, 25 for the cops, 25 for the finder and 50 to turn in?

    Wondering if a tracking device could have been placed on the package to see if we might identify the real owners before removing it? I’m sure there are plenty of reasons why not, someone do please educate me.

    Don’t police have drug dogs they should be walking with them maybe they can fine the drug and watch it till they catch the owner of the drugs.

    Something tells me it’ll be another bloody week of shootings coming up. Every time a big drug deal goes bad there’s a spate of shootings.
