    I find the story interesting.

Police arrested two people who they can’t name for doing something illegal in a place… they can’t name.

What is the point of the press release.

To be fare I will say from experience working on the water front you would be surprised how many tourist ask you where they can get a splif or a dime bag from.. In one day alone I was approached more than 20 times by people young and old. They would just cold face ask you. And when they see you not answering they would try to pass it off as a joke…. So it goes both ways…. But again as I said this is nothing new to Cayman…. it been happening for a long time just people don’t want to face reality of what’s going on around them..

OK, I’m confused.  Either you guys know something the rest of us don’t, or your comments are pure speculation – because I see no mention of this in the CNS report, but you all seem to be focusing on ‘tourist drug trade’ issues.  Let’s not speculate without being appraised of the facts please?

I do hope they are not trying to start up the drug selling to tourist on the waterfront, like is done in some nearby Caribbean countries, where tourist is being followed arround asking to purchase a splif.   Cut it out.

So true, thanks to CNS, I dont even read the news papers anymore. This is what I call transparency.

      You Hope not?

Too late, wayyyyyyyyyy too late. I know very well the Caymanian guys that sell grams of cocaine and ganja spliffs already rolled to the cruise ship tourists out ont he beaches/bars at XXXX, XXXXX and at all the beaches in between.  And some hang around the waterfront where the tenders come in "scoping out" the tourist, to see what buses they get on, where they are headed, to know where to go and sell. This has been going on since I moved here in 2002.

I hope this is stopping now, as it seems to have started long ago.  Amen to yet another DRUG bust-We must continue to declare STARVATION on the drug industry-NO BUYERS & NO SELLERS as people continue to want, ask & receive help & HEALING and  find another way to deal with issues.

      Blessings

I tried to find another way to deal with my issues but getting high was just much easier and loads more fun.

Been going on for as long as cruise ships have been coming here, duh!

It just so happens that the police or whoever seems to finally be catching on to it and those involved.

Ever wonder how many of those taxi and bus drivers sell drugs……

Way to go RCIPS! And thanks CNS for letting us know what is going on….so many times we see the helicopter and force out with no idea WHY!

  6. Around & Around We Go says:

Ahh the good old tourist drug trade this makes up about 8% of total drugs sales on the island and is becoming more popular as the drug deals find it hard to trust the local buyer.. Wonder if they could sort out the other 92% of the problem…

ever stop to wonder at the negative effect it has on our image as a family destination when visitors are openly asked if they want to buy drugs. May not seem like a big deal but in the overall scheme of things it helps.

Must say, the DTF seem to have stepped up their game recently.

Keep up the hard work RCIPS

Ever wonder that perhaps  it is the tourist asking for it in the 1st place?

Having worked in the tourism industry as a young man I was asked for ganja or coke on a daily basis by the tourists, from people my age, to those with young kids (standing there while their parents asked), to ancient grannies.

It is a fact of life that people do drugs and always will, its happened since the beginniing of time.

To those stupid enough to supply them, you get whats coming for you because as we all know, if you do something illegal you WILL GET CAUGHT, its just a matter of time.

That explains the Police Helicopter presence over Queens Court yesterday lunch. Good to see it being used.
