Mac meets queen at Windsor on UK trip
(CNS): The Cayman Islands premier, along with other leaders of the UK’s overseas territories, was invited to meet Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday 16 November at Windsor Castle. McKeeva Bush, who was in the UK for the annual Overseas Territories Consultative Council (OTCC), was one of six territory leaders who were formally presented to the queen. According to a release from Cayman’s London office, the premier also enjoyed a more personal exchange with the world’s most famous royal in which he congratulated her on the engagement of her grandson Prince William to Kate Middleton, which was announced on the day of the visit. Premier Bush was delighted that after the queen was introduced to all of the leaders, she made a point to return to Bush for a further conversation. He said it was an honour to meet “Her Majesty again” and that she mentioned her trip to the Cayman Islands in 1994, recalling a visit to Evelyn Theresa Powery of West Bay who at the time was age 94.
After Bush offered congratulations on behalf of the people of the Cayman Islands over the royal engagement, the queen sent her best wishes to her subjects in the Cayman Islands.

Mac said "Queenie I is from Ole Bush Wes Bay……." Her Majesty didn’t understand what he said so she returned to him to say that when she last visited her "subjects" in the Cayman Islands the native tongue was the Queen’s English and she didn’t realize that the language had changed to OleBushlish and she was interested in learning more about this new language.
Mac then told her in OleBushlish that he only had 22 days to economic success so he said "Lookeyah Queenie I gah geh bak doun Wes Bay cah dem Bayas waten on me bring deh money" and into the Limo Mac jumped !
Her Majesty then whispered to her Lady-In-Waiting that it seems that the "natives are restless in the Cayman Islands"

CNS, the Queen has no power. She is just a tourist attraction paid by the UK tax-payers. The Premier most important meeting is with the FCO ministers and members of Parliament who has the power to make a positive difference on these islands. I hope the next news article could read, "Mac meets members of parliament to work on how they can strengthen ties between the UK and the Cayman Islands, respecting and safe-guarding the democracy of the Cayman Islands"
you know what I think? that Cayman should just go independent. no england no english interference no her majesty’s subjects. i look forward to watching how it develops like Jamaica did after it went independent. PS I will be watching it from chilly england because I have had enough of the xenophobic ranting of the people on this island about the queen and england. I am off home. It has its faults, it has its polish workers, it has chavs and social problems but it has the good ol nhs and I am no longer made to feel like a second class citizen on a tiny piece of rock in the sea where I contribute to the economy more than most of the locals in terms of stamp duty paid on property, my work permit, import duty on everything I bring in, cost of food etc etc. You guys never knew when you had it so good – you sold all your land to developers and then complained that property was out of reach of the average Caymanian -duh!

I have never visted a place that is as anti foreigner as the English (ever heard of their famous "anti-pac association"?). The English are known to not like (to put it very mildly) foreign people. The fact that the Queen outside of her Ministers has no real power as a matter of constitutional convention is widely known and is taught every constitutional law course. Why would saying the discussion should be had with the UK Ministers be xenophobic?
