Immigration boards must go says discussion panel

(CNS Business): There was a general consensus across the political and business spectrum at last week’s Generation Now debate that it was time for the immigration boards to go. Panellists at the debate said that the method of reviewing immigration matters by a volunteer, part-time board was outdated and needed to be changed. Following comments he madeto CNS and in the Legislative Assembly recently about the need to abolish the volunteer board system and implement an open and transparent administrative way of granting permits and residency the opposition leader said that the time had come to move away from grants being made by boards.
