Haul of ganja found in GT church yard

| 08/02/2012

ganja.JPG(CNS): A member of the Windsor Park Wesleyan Holiness church uncovered a stash of hidden ganja while doing some gardening on the property this week. Although police have not yet confirmed it is estimated that around 2lbs of the illegal drug was hidden in the bushes in the church yard several bags were recovered by scenes of crime officers after one of the church helpers called the RCIPS on Monday evening. Donna Bryan told Cayman27 news that she came across the drug haul hidden under overgrown hedge that she was trying to pull out at the back of the church. When she looked in the black garbage bags she realized exactly what had been hidden on the church grounds.

She told the TV station that is was not right that people would use the church yard to hide drugs. “It just goes to show people don’t have any reverence to God,” she said. Bryan noted that the church has an after school programme and the youngsters were around when the contraband was uncovered.

There is a whole lot of ganja smokers on this blog. I tried it once 35 yrs ago back home in Jamaica because some of my friends who were from "The 12 Tribe of Israel" told me that ganja makes you feel irie and that it is sweet. All I could think about is "it sweet" because I have a sweet tooth.  Listen to me man, leave that thing alone. It is bitter, clouds your brain, make you talk foolisness, screw-up your life, keep you disoriented and turn you into a zombie. Now, if it did that to me with only one smoke, just imagine those of you who are hooked?  I am sure the Lord did not make that herb for you to smoke, it was made for something else other than to be inhaled.

It’s amazing how we use God’s name so conveniently when we want to justify our behaviours. God created everything on this earth, but none of it to be abused or misused. He is gracious, he gives us free will to choose and it appears that a lot of people have chosen their way. If it was in fact growing on Solomon’s grave, what exactly does this prove? Probably that like in most cemeteries “weeds” grow all over. So if the logic follows, I found some daisies growing on my grandmother’s grave and she was a very long person. I’m going to smoke those daisies to be more loving! I’m not saying that God didn’t intend some good purposes for these naturally growing plants but I’m sure it wasn’t to enslave His people to a life of addiction and ignorance. You think it’s the healing of the nation? Tell that to the teachers and parents dealing with doped up kids too slow and despondent to learn or even care about school, their lives or anything for that matter.

Looks like the comments came from the 37 people who planned to split the stash.

  4. Jamaican Canoe Captain says:

It was 5 lbs less a few draws when I buried it.

  5. Knot S Smart says:

Maybe they took it to the church to confess, but the minister was not there, so rather than backing the heavy bags up and down, they just left it there so that they could confess when the minister returned?

  6. HERB says:

By the comments on here, should tell you how the community feel about the Herb.  In plain simple words, it is no hurt to anyone.  I would rather any day to smoke two splifs than drink 2 glasses of red vine or rum.  The rum make you stupid, talk foolishness and want to fight your wife and neighbor.  The red vine make you cheat on your spouse.  There Herb make you think visely and see the passive side of life.  i PREFER THE HERB ANYDAY.

I bet the cops were there straight away, too. Maybe that’s the trick to improve response times, just tell the dispatcher that the robbers were smoking ganja!

    • Anonymous says:

Yup, rapid response time probably involving helicopter, marine vessels, canine units, drug task force, special constables and regular officers like they used for those kids smoking a spliff at Rum Point last year!

Will am not suprised at all. You just need to check the surroundings area of the Church and you get an idea. The lil fobs I see sitting around a wall during weekdays and late nights might just be the answer to the weeds.

posting the ladies name who found the stash was a stupid thing to do.

CNS: If readers click on the video they will see Mrs Bryan speaking openly to Cayman27

Since it appears that she had a TV interview with News 27 I don't think posting the name here made any difference.

    • Anonymous says:

I believe it is important that our media advise and help protect individuals like this lady who give the information. I believe even if she was willing to appear on Tv or have her name posted, the media should use wisdom and advice her not to do so. In the climate we are presently living we have to use as much precaution as necessary.

  21. Frank says:

God created Marijuana. Its an all natural plant. I do agree that they shouldn't be putting trash bags in the church yard though.

    • HERB says:

Frank I must agree with you.  Ganja is a herb made by god.  I would like to know who gave man the authority to make it illegal.  It was growing by the tons on King solomon's Grave.  King David smoked it, and many of the other leaders in the bibical days.

Ganja was only made illegal because one white man discovered the silk and to keep the Hemp from being sold for profit by the black man it was made illegal so the silk could be sold.  Read the story what took place.

Ganja does not make people fight or rob.  Cocane does that.  Ganja smokers only  eat plenty rice and beans, medidate and hustle.  If you have not tried it then please do not make asumptions about it.  I am not a weed head but I smoked it before, and I ate a whole chocolate cake and a pot of rice and beans me one.

there is also the pharmaceutical industry, which would lose billions of dollars on medications. people spend thousands of dollars on painkillers, nausea medications, sleep aids, ADD meds, mental, physical, and physiological medicaions…(plus, the police like a nice, easy weed conviction to drain the public purse…)

imagine the money people could save if they could all grow these medications in their back yaad…….  ðŸ™‚

Hello! Cocaine comes from the leaf of the coca plant which God also made. He also made the tree in the centre of the Garden of Eden and told man not to eat of it.

If turns you into a glutton then that alone is grounds for banning it.

        • Anonymous says:

Are you suggesting that ganja is the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge?
