I completely agree with the below writers, when is this going to stop? Oh I know when unfortunately, never,! The powers the be don’t seem to be bothered with our traffic laws and especially DUIs. To be honest it is not that simple to fix but measures to be put into place immediately in the means of large fines, and if on a permit (appoligized to work permit holders) immediate withdrawal of their permits, just like a criminal offense. The officials also have to drop the legal limit, this was discussed sometime ago but as usual the conversation is just dropped!!!!

These day you don’t need to drink and drive, take a cab, have a designated driver or use those little scooter guys.

When is Cayman going to take drunk driving seriously?  Mandatory jailtime for any conviction might be the only way of changing this disgusting and selfish behaviour, regardless of whether the person caught has been in an accident or not.  Too many innocent people and being killed or maimed by those that put their drinking first.

In the space of the last week, I have followed at least 7 cars in which if the drivers were not drunk, they were certainly very careless…all over the road…not aware of what is going on around them. 3 of those were on the way back from Rum Point yesterday…

If it is not policed seriously, then it will not be taken seriously and more innocent people will be injured or killed..Why is it that in every country except here this is seen as one of the most unacceptable offences?

Good to see from the 1 thumb down there is at least one committed drink driver who wants his rights to kill and injure protected.
