George Town girl is Caribbean’s first top model
(CNS): After three months of tough competition, Cayman’s Treveen Stewart has taken the first ever Caribbean Top Model title. The George Town native beat out some 22 other girls to win the finale of the TV reality showed, based on the original America’s Next Top Model, hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks. Stewart took the title in the last show Monday night from Stephany Francisca from Curaçao. Check back to CNS for more on Treveen’s win later.

first of all let me say CONGRATULATIONS TO TRAVEEN, what an awesome acheivement for you!! Although I do not know ms. Traveen personally I do know that she is a young Caymanian who has gone the extra mile to accomplish her dreams and is succeeding in doing so and for that we should all, as caymanians ourselves, give her a round of applause and stop fighting down our own people. This is why other nationalities come here to our Island and make it far better than we do BECAUSE THEY SUPPRT THEIR OWN . Traveen keep on keeping on, I hope and pray that you will go straight to the top and and as discouraging as these haters are i pray more young Caymanians will get out there and do the same . BTW the Bibe also says "those without sin cast the first stone" and that should not judge!

let be a little more realistic here, it wasnt aimed at alluring men; this isnt pornography, this is art. its aimed more toward femininity and being comfortable with yourself. we need more strong women to do this.

I guess the fashion / model industry is simply not for everyone.
I am a red-blooded, heterosexual adult male (I cannot speak for the lesbians in the room), and I do not consider the photo to be inappropriate or over-sexualized.
Not every image of a naked woman / man is intended to induce sexual arousal.
Perhaps some of our readers ought to exmaine their personal mindset before opting to spew outrageous viewpoints into the virtual stratosphere.
As for the bible-thumpers in the room … I thought God created us in his own image … and we all came out naked, no? (Who knows, heaven may be a nudist colony!)

Working hard at all the photo shoots getting a few "Best Photo of the week", you accepted the judges comments or critcism if it was needed and moved on th the next shoot looking beautiful. Keep it up and let no one with their negative comments scare you into not succeeding in your modeling career.

Those against the choice of photo need to get off your holy horse. It's appreciation for art and being natural…she's not showing anything that anyone comfortable with the human body need be offended by.

Each photo shoot was based on a theme. Her hunching over forms part of the them for this particular photo shoot.

She may be mostly nude but the photograph is not in any way pornographic. I think she looks beautiful. It's the human form after all! She isn't posed in a lascivious manner; in fact, this picture is far less sexually explicit than what you can see on the streets of Georgetown during Batabano!

Granted, she was controversial at times (like making poor Susan cry), but she dug in at thecrucial moments and rose to the challenge when it mattered.
E.g. the native tribes, yoga, and Indian themed photoshoots. (That elephant pic was simply epic!)
In fact, even her acting skills were up to par as demonstrated in the little skit with the Toni-Braxton-pretty-boy-Floyd fella … can't remember the name at the moment.
I see big things in your future, Treveen … congrats again!

If you didn't watch the show how do you know how she "made poor Susan cry"? Hearsay?
I watched the entire show. For the most part most of the girls disliked Treveen and it was Treveen who received most of the hate, but rose above it. The girls disliked her more because she was in it to win and not to make "friends" and she made that clear from the start. Throughout the show she was determined and focused. Poor Susan, lovely as she was, was weak and feeble throughout the entire show. She should have focused on the competition not friendships with the other competitors. She couldn't take criticism well and sometimes Treveen may have been a little harsh, but to be honest the day Susan cried I watched and didn't see what the big deal was.
Well done Treveen, you did us proud. You come across as a strong and confident young lady so I am sure the baseless criticisms and comments here, many from people who didn't see the show and don't understand the themes in the photo shoots, won't phase you.

Yes seriously, change the photo. I only watched the episode from last night as C27 had it streaming live, but even from that one episode there were more appropriate photos. Use the one in the sari – all the judges complimented that and thought it was perfection. Well done to Treveen – she did us proud.
In the fashion, modeling, and art world, there has always been a disregard for modest apparel. Whatever attracts men who want nothing more from young women, but the S word. Sad, but get use to it.

Maybe you should try getting to know real men!!! If we look at a photo of a beautiful model, and just think of sex, then we have a serious problem!! When I see this photo I can only think of a beautiful creation of God. Remember, it was not until Eve sinned that we knew good from evil. Before that they were both nude and I am sure, not having every sexual thought just because of that. There are a lot of us that can look at a beautiful photo like this and appreciate the art and not the sexuality in it. I do not see anything sexual in this photo, can anyone tell me what is sexual about this? Try comparing this photo to a Playboy or Hustler magazine before answering.
