So what . . . . .Just avoid West Bay.

    • 1Cayman says:

Avoid West Bay and go where? You are obviously not up to date with whats been going on with the rest of the island. Maybe you should avoid living above gound and just crawl in a hole.

RCIPS, just “seed” each group with false information about the intentions of the others and have the ambulance service collect the bodies just like last time.

That comment is disgusting. These "boys/men" are someone's family members, loved ones, community members,HUMAN BEINGS- no matter what they are involved in or what they are doing. The boys from last summer were young with their whole lives ahead of them.

I know that alot of the "gangstas" also like sports and competition. They also like sneakers or phones- especially free. The community needs to join with the police and have activities at night (basketball, football, sporting events and involve these "gangs"- YES- gang against gang- sport against sport- award free sneakers, shirts- LIME, DIGICEL (other companies) get involved in sponsors and other companies with young working men that enjoy sports and can help these guys out. School against school, community against community, along with these mentors. Along with the sports comes mentoring, leadership and not as much time out on the streets. This activity needs to be done from 8 p.m- midnight- pizza, chicken, free sneakers, talks, sports, fun and less time to be a gangster. After hours of sport they are sweaty and not in the mood to chill out on the street. they want a shower and cool air. All summer long and if the funds last….keep it into the fall. Slip in some job applications, computer workshops, jobs…….and bingo……you get a few off the streets and productivity has started.

        Just a suggestion.

Thumbs down to the only response that gives a positive suggestion on how to respond to the shootings besides the one above it that suggests to give "fake gang information and send in the ambulance to pick up the bodies".  Makes one think, doesn't it?

        • Anonymous says:

Nope. Disagree with you.  Gangsters a pond life scum and the less of there are the better.

    Gaza strikes again!

    • Hoping for better days says:

Gaza?  wow. So basically all our young men want to be gangsters from Israel. That's where Gaza is. The "holy" land of Isael. There is nothing funny about our youth killing one another and their parents sitting back and letting them do so. This is not funny. This is disgusting, silly games they are playing. NATIVE CAYMANIANS are a minority. We are a dying breed if you may. DO NOT encourage such behaviour by posting such ignorant RASS comments whoever you are….our people are slaughtering one another? What are we going to do???? Somebody tell me????

Try praying. I have been told, in all seriousness, that it works.

            Dear Anti Christ,

I figure you won’t get too many comments on this because majority of Caymanians will not even bother to follow you up on this comment or even bother to click on that article. I have seen God work in my life time and time again., and there is no one that can change my belief. I truly feel sorry or you. Trust me there will come a time in your life you will need him. I can only say to you, it’s better to live your life believing in god , than not to and to die and find out there is one. There was a time that I didn’t have much belief in him either , then something terrible happened that turned my life upside down but ever since, my belief in him is very strong and I see his works in my life every single day.

Have you ever thought that the reason prayers are not answered for many are because they are non believers just like you but maybe just praying for the heck of it sometimes to see what will happen. Well, guess what he knows if you believe or not.

We all knew these days were going to come and there wouldbe people like you trying to corrupt people’s mind.

            God Bless.

There will come a time, when those things that you seek shall be lost, even though they were only put there the night before.

At this time, a man shall lose another man's hammer and a great wrath will descent .. about 6 oclock.

Actually they are modeling the 'Gaza vs Gully" wars in Jamaica that you especially hear Reggae artists singing about in thier music. Nothing to do with Israel.

      • Truth says:

Caymanians are a dying breed because of the disparity in education, training and cultural adversity to change.  And its not a "Caymanian" thing.  Its a Human thing and is true of many cultures around the world. Parental guidence toward a better education is what Caymanians need and lack.

      • Moses says:

Actually Gaza is not in Israel, its in the Palestinian territories… and The mention of Gaza is due to Caymanians bandwagonning Vybz Kartel's foolishness. Vybz Kartels foolishness is a comparison of the warring youths in Jamaica to the warring militants of Palestinians against Israeli oppression. Education.

I see the morons are at play again. isn't there some place we can house them away from the adult population?

    • Hoping for better days says:

And their parents? Where do you suggest we put them? Most of these young men/women's parents condone their behaviour. Forget the BS talk. come up with some REAL solutions for the country because this is not only happening in Westbay. If we get a grip now, we will get back up in a few years, if we don't we are DOOMED for ever!

Sadly, many of these "gangsta wannabes" were born with prenatal problems that were caused by women who abused drugs, both legal and illegal, while they were pregnant. Drugs like nicotine, alcohol, ganja, cocaine, meth etc cause brain damage to unborn children. Poor eating habits also damage unborn children.

        What a tragedy.

        • Anonymous says:

Yes, including large numbers of them from overseas in breach of our laws and adding to our own significant home grown issues.

          • Judean Peoples Front says:

I very much doubt it. Check the previous press reports from the gang killing spree a few years ago.

        • Anonymous says:

Why we need to allow abortions.  Poor women are forced to have children they don't want who end up as criminals.  Rich women can afford to have things sorted out in Miami.

When we catch them and if they have cayman status can we put them in jail and whenthey set free send them back to their country. Isn't there a law that says we can take cayman status away if they create a violent crime?

  6. Anonymous says:

but we don't have any crime in the cayman islands or gangs….

I checked this out with the professionals, the Fire Service and there was no fire. What was seen by the person that reported a fire was small sparks being emitted from an exterior hood on the roof of the building. There was no fire damage to the building.

There are two different crime scenes (shootings) on Watercourse Road. One is at the junction of Watercourse Road and Boatswain Bay (Super C's) and the other is about 3/4 mile south, at the junction of Poinciana Lane and Watercourse Road. Injuries only at Super C's location.

Actually many said there were three shootings but that could be families of gang members bragging, the second one was in retaliation for the first and one of the problems is a new gang springing up where an existing gang doesn’t want them…..follow the trail of money and you will find the leaders behind the faces of the gangs and it isn’t young people, they are the expendables it’s called look this way while we do something over here for the younger ones it’s about belonging and letting emotions run high and for the older ones power and money follow the money trail and one of the most vicious is a female she is a mini mafia in her own right and yes the police have been given names, photos, locations etc….personally I like the Elliott Ness approach whack them all they are taking up resources better used for early education and caring for our seniors
