Double death witness appeal

| 11/02/2014

(CNS): Detectives piecing together the events leading up to the suspected murder-suicide on Sunday are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a grey Toyota Corolla (licence plate # 141 871) parked near farmland in Passion Crescent to come forward. Jamaica nationals Nichelle Anna-Kay Thomas (21) and Devon Roy Campbell (39) were found dead at an address in Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town, at about 8:25 on Sunday morning, 9 February. Police are now asking that anyone who saw the vehicle (left) parked at that location between 6am and 8.25am on Sunday to contact Detective Inspector Dennis Walkington on 325-8161. DI Walkington is also keen to speak to anyone who saw Devon Campbell, who was well-known locally, with the car or in farmland nearby.

The RCIPS confirmed that, at this time, they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this enquiry.

I remain glad to not be a part of FaceBorg.

If a person is tasked with site acquisiton after a murder, they have a responsibility to NOT share those photos publicly.

Look at what the RCiP have become, they go to investigate a crime scene and then they have to be investigated . Isn't this also outrageous that we have a I dread to say it police force that dies not know to secure the scene of a crime and ensure no photos are taken. Why ate officer of the police, fire and ambiance services carrying phones, don't they have radios for communication, they are on duty aren't they . If someone wants to reach them individually call their Headquarters and have them relay a message. My word what have we become.

15:02 if you see the pictures the caution tape is already there, so the police must have been on the scene, pure slackness no excuses.

I basically agree with ALL the posters here. Our world has turned into a media circus and one only has to turn to certain TV outlets on US tv to see how far down in the gutter we have fallen all for the sake of  SENSATIONALISM My condolances to the families involved and shame shame on the picture takers

Once again, blame the United States for the bad behavior of your local picture takers.

We are all responsible for our own behavior. This is a good starting point for fixing the ills of this society. Stop blaming everyone else.

What's with all the post about pictures been circulating around? The Only pictures I have seen regarding this Article is the photo of the Car and some footage on Cayman27, I see nothing offensive or out of the ordinary. Pictures has always being taking of Crime Scenes and it is normal, which is usually taking after the Scene has been cleaned up. So why all the sudden these pictures of a Crime Scene is creating all of these post about them? Again the pictures I have seen is nothing out of the ordinary, it's not like you seen pictures of victims or Suspects in them on a Crime Scene, I for sure haven't. if I did, I would be making noise about that, for it would be gone just a little to far for any News Media, but Caution Tapes at the scene and photos of a Car is all normal. Once again what's all the Excitment about?

Hmmm, maybe you should try reading the posts before commenting. People are upset because there ARE pics of their BODIES being circulated via phone and social media.

You have missed the boat totally on this one.  The outrage (and rightfully so) is about the pictures that were circulated on BBM and Whatsapp of the victims in their gruesome state.  Total disrepect and disregard for the deceased and their families. I also feel that it was unnecessary for cayman27 to show the same pictures albeit that they were blurred out.

Read the posts…obviously the public is making an issue, as should you if you would just read on the facts on this page and on Cayman 27 for which aired last night; that the photos of the victims lifeless bodies are being circulated. Now the facts before you make senseless comments.

You clearly haven't seen the same photos everyone is talking about. There ARE photos of the two dead persons going around.

Why are you so quick to blame the cops?  Surely there are others who were there before the police arrived.

I'm disgusted that pictures from the crime scene are circulating around the island.  How unprofessional that someone at the scene has taken these pictures and made them public.

I saw these yesterday and was outraged. Yes I looked….and am not proud of it but the most sickening thing is that the pics show the area taped off….as in it was a crime scene controlled by the police. I cannot believe we have cops who are so callous as to take cell phone pics and share them.

Look at the pictures and see those who are represented there.  Every picture tells a story.

If these photos were taken by professionals on scene they should lose their jobs. They are in a position of trust and this was a crime scene.

it will not be difficult to trace where the photos circulating originated from.

OUTRAGE is an understatement in this situation!!! Words cannot describe the disgust and disppointment!!

The RCIPS should be investigating those that had access to the sealed crime scene. This is disgusted and absolutely concerning on the grounds of confidentiality.

The two involved have families and friends and the last thing any of us need to see is thier lifeless bodies! We do not want to remember them that way.

Who ever you are…YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED of yourself and more so prosecuted for violating the confidentiality of the investigation!!!

        HOW DARE YOU!!!

Commissioner Baines and Deputy Commissioner Ennis – we the friends, family and public are appealing to you to please take this as a serious matter of the photos being circulated and bring the person to be repremanded for thier actions!

Even though they are dead, they deserve respect and privacy.  Leave them be.  They are people with families and loved ones that are very sensitive to those images.

The speed at which the images were circulated obviously shows the appetite for the gruesome and that is also a sickening thought.

Yes believe it.  We have officers from certain countries where that kind of behaviour is often the norm (I suppose like everywhere but let me rephrase).  Very unprofessional.  I hope to God they get to the root of who actually started this distasteful behaviour and send them shipping if they are not from here.  We have to make an example.  The individual(s) should be pissing in their pants right now because all will be revealed.  Fancy sending out photos off dead people via social media.  What sick mentality is that.  That is why unfortunately this country is going to the dogs because we keep encouraging disrepectful behaviour.

This happens often and is done by our so-called law enforcement and emergency response professionals. It's disgusting and should be a prosecutable offense. A loved one of mine was murdered and photos were taken of him in the morgue graphically showing his injuries, These photos were circulating via social media and my son saw them. I was so horrified by this and am still traumatised. People in our little society are very cruel. But the people working in these sensitive areas and positions should really be punished for these kids of breaches of privacy and human decency.

      • AnonymousX says:

It can be traced. I was told the pictures was on a girls phone who works for government, but I didn't go to see them, nor am I intending to ask her to send them to me via her phone. Now at this stage, I don't think such pictures are worth seeing or braging about. Not everything in life you should see. There is a reason why it wasn't meant for you to see. God send things to us for a reason and somethings he didn't send for us to see. Why then would you want to see it and gossip about it like you would with a violent movie?

        • Anonymous says:

Shouldn't you be telling the police that?

          • Anonymous says:

I guess they were more eager to stress the point that some girl from gov’ t has them on her phone.
