Cops charge 45 year old man for mystery burglary

| 24/02/2014

(CNS): Police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old man in connection with a George Town burglary which reportedly occurred on 16 February at a downtown George Town business. The unnamed man was expected to appear in Summary Court Tuesday to answer the charges, police said, but were unable to disclose the location of the premises that the man is accused of breaking into. An RCIPS spokesperson said the owners were overseas and unable to give authority for the release of the name of the business.

This is the most foolish thing I have ever heard! Why are we wasting time to even take this man to court if the name of the business cannot be disclosed? Obviously he has to go to court to answer to the charges so why not issue or state the name of the business to the general public? If this is a legally  licensed business then issue the name of the company, as there is nothing that protects the name of a buisness from being made public once  it is a "LIcenced Company" within the Cayman Islands. Obviously there is more to this story that they are yet to publish! Really makes if wonder what the owners are trying to cover up?!?

Why do the police need the store owner's permission?  Once you dial  911 you are in the public domain.

Owned by someone that scares the police?

You'll have to be a little more specific…EVERYONE scares the police…

Not quite.  911 recordings can be withheld if they are material evidence to an ongoing investigation.

And whose to say that this burglary was ever reported via 911 in the first place?

Perhaps our intrepid police force has not yet figured out where this mysterious crime took place
