GT Road closed for heavy equipment convoy

(CNS): West bound traffic along the Linford Pierson Highway will be diverted at the Junction of Agnes Way from 6am until 6pm today, Saturday 12 April. The diversion and temporary road closure will clear the road westward to the Bobby Thompson round-a-bout due to a police escort of heavy equipment and building materials to the Fairbanks area. Motorist are asked to avoid  Bobby Thompson Way, Huldah Avenue near the Cricket Field and the Bobby Thompson round-a-bout as the heavy equipment is escorted from the George Town Harbor via these roads to Fairbanks. Police said officers will be on hand to assist motorist.

    What a waste of money!!! How is this more needed than resurfacing the road in front of The Strand. That road is a disgrace that locals and tourists alike have to put up with.

      must be those pesky foreigners again, coming round here, diggin up our roads…with all their new fangled equipment- tut tut tut..in the old days we had to walk everywhere and life was much better…
