Eastern district cops set to hear from public
(CNS): The Bodden Town police boss has announced a series of police meetings in the eastern districts next month. As North Side and East End finally get dedicated police officers in the face of increasing property crime the Area Commander Districts will be holding community meetings at Bodden Town, North Side and East End between 5-7 August. Residents in the area are invited to come and discuss any issues their communities. Chief Inspector Brad Ebanks said the police will also share with the public what the RCIPS has been doing to address the problems and concerns about crime.
“We want to hear from you our community members," Ebanks said. "We will continue to work together with you in order to accomplish the same objectives, thus lessening crime and making our districts a safer place to live.”
The meetings are set for the following dates and times:
Bodden Town Civic Centre – Tuesday 5th August 7pm-9pm
North Side Civic Centre – Wednesday 6th of August 7pm-9pm
East End United Church Hall – Thursday 7th of August 7pm-9pm

The road between the Hut and Over the Edge turns into a race track every Sunday (that's not to say this doesn't happen any other day). It is mind boggling to see the cars and motorbikes speeding and racing and often you can hear them coming from a mile away with their engines in high gear. This is a very well known fact and the peek hour is usually between 4:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday when most people clear out from Rumpoint making their way back home. I am not talking about going 35mph in a 30 mph zone, I am talking about going 60/70 mph in a 30 mph zone. Who knows, perhaps some of those wanna be race car drivers are also involved with more than just racing. I don't understand why police isn't on top of this. Getting control back over the roads would be a good place to start. I have raised this issue just yesterday with Inspector Ebanks and he promised me that they would get a handle on this. I am curious to see what will be done and whether this is going to be something that provides long term control and solution or if it is just something that will last a couple of weekends and then business is back as usual. One suggestion – work with the element of surprise! Don't park the police car in plain sight for everyone to see from 2 miles away!
Oh no not this mumbo jumbo again, here comes the foreign run Police with another spiel for more money$$$$. These meeting only stands as a crying session and strategy for the public to here the Lack of resources dealiO Remember their not a force Now! but a Service. A service who serves its own interest which is a foreign employment agenda certainly not Crime!!!! which has hired a few propped up and incompetent Caymanians as so called figure heads. If it sounds harsh it is because the crime is killing us out yah in these streets and RCIPS has errryting under the sun they need to solve crime, but all we constantly hear are excuses and we are force to put up every single day with their ineptness and incompetence.
Check the local bars in the districts. As the barmaids who the most frequent and loyal customers are during the daytime and who frequents there at night driving off drunk. There you will find the information needed on petty burglars, wife beaters, drug addicts etc.
