I don’t condone drinking and driving because it’s dangerous and foolish. But consumption of ganja?
As a society, do we have better things to be concerned about?
As they get off the phone with their broker after transferring another couple of hundred thousand to the hedge fund which has invested in a third world sweatshop, harass the maid, drink their martini and do a few lines of blow….they’re hoping the police can put a stop to this crime wave.
XXXXXX I am going to be very frank to say that there is too much bad mindedness among certain officers in the Royal Cayman Island Police Force. Good grief, no wonder the public is so much against you people. Days gone by police protected and looked out for one another, but today it is not the same. We have major break down in communication between the expatriates and the caymanians.
Should we dare ask why? I am going to tell you right now, what I have observed, is that certain Expatriate Police officers are displaying an attitude that they know it all. And I will tell you something right now, I dont care a rat behind which ever one of you want to critize my comments, that is your business and is expected. I am always speaking up good and defending the police, but like hell am I going to give you right when you do the wrong.
So far my greatest of respect go to the commissioner Baines, I seem him so far as a fair and honest man who is trying to do the best to make things right. But he has to be careful and do not let certain officers get away with certain acts.
Take for instance, some time ago, I witnessed a UK officer sodrunk at one of the local bar/resturants that he was dropping his keys and money on the floor while trying to pay his bill, gone outside and was searching all about for the police car. Eventually found it and drove away.
A few weeks ago a female UK officer in the vicinity of the Royal Palms was so drunk, and turned up to a MB accident pissed and driving the police vehicle. The Commissioner needs to become aware of these actions, because what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Walk good and keep the peace
I agree but having witnessed two such events shouldn’t you have rang crimestoppers with the car registration numbers of the two police officers involved. Personally I dont care if someone is Caymanian, UK, Chinese, if they are drunk and they are driving then they should be prosecuted.
You are absolutely correct, but some times we do not want to report incidences involving police. Why? Because I have know in instances where it has been done to the department of Complaints at Elizanethan Square, and what happened????? All I am saying is that the police have a few areas to brush up on. Not all of them but plent of them, and they need to live better with each other than they are doing. Bushes have ears.
Loving the level of sarcasm i’m reading here lol. I can tell this is going to be my favorite stream of comments. Are we seriously suppose to congratulate the RCIP every time they make a petty arrest or get on ppls backs about traffic laws (when they themselves don’t know them most of the time – know this from experience)…Just do your job RCIP! Expect praise when there’s adequate results and changes made…and next time a group of you go jogging by Safe Haven do a little more jogging and less "stretching"…COME ON ur rice&peas are showing!
Congrats on the DUI arrests. The ganja arrests are a real shame. Who exactly are they protecting here? Can anyone explain the specifics of this Consumption of Ganja law in Cayman or have a link to something explaining it? Can they just assume you have consumed ganja and take you in and administer a drug test? What kind of probable cause do they need?
What about all the break ins and pistols whippings going on? Soon this island will have no tourists and their money!!!
Think about it……….
Wow great work police! Three guys arrested for possessing and smoking a naturally growing plant. I will sleep so well tonight knowing that you worked so hard to keep me safe from the harm of young men before they got the munchies. Please make sure that your counterparts in legal throws the book at them for their heinous crimes.
Those young men deserve as many years as posible at Northward for CI$60,000 a year each.
I salute you and hope you are on the fast-track to commissioner!
Good to see the police focusing on the serious crimes. Waccy baccy and booze.
What about the generation of gangsters this country has produced? Shouldn’t they be rounding them up before they shoot up all the workers subsidizing their lifestyles and illegitimate children?
They neva Stop!!!!
