Traces of alcohol led to more product recalls

| 02/12/2010

(CNS): Johnson & Johnson-Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals has initiated the recall of its Mylanta products after an internal review revealed the possible presence of alcohol from flavouring agents was not noted in the packaging. Certain flavouring agents contribute small (<1%) amounts of alcohol. Although the manufacturer said it is unlikely that use of these products willcause either alcohol absorption or alcohol related adverse events, the products are being recalled. As a result Foster’s Food Fair has said it has removed the indigestion products from its shelves.

Apologising for any inconvenience the local supermarket encouraged all customers who have purchased any Mylanta Regular Strength Original 12 FL Oz to return it to their local Foster’s Food Fair store for a full refund.
