Broad fingerprinting across when it is not proportionately related to the investigation of a specific crime is illegal under the ECHR.
To Finger Printing Expats
Finger print from the cradle to the cross, Caymanians included. I have nothing to hide, so I am happy to give my foot prints as well. It is done in the USA. Every newborn is hand and foot printed. Any objections to going through the process, would raise eyebrows.
PHEW……well as long as no tourists were in the shop at the time i guess its not so bad right?
just another day in paradise lost
Hey, Dummy. The Premier Great Leader for Life just decreed an end to crime or don’t you read the newspapers or watch TV or listen to the radio. It’s not nice to make the Great Leader for Life mad. On the serious side, your actions just contribute to the negative opinion developing among visitors to the Caymans and among law-abiding Caymanians. Your future and that of the Cayman Islands is dependent upon maintaining a respectful and law-abiding populace.
If you want to be a common lawbreaker, move to Jamaica or Mexico. You’ll feel at home there. Keep the Caymans a nation of the proud!
Fingerprinting expats is fine but clearly there is a need to also fingerprint Caymanians, who appear to be the ones perpetrating the robberies and muggings
* CNB countryside robber
* Butterfield robbery
* Tourist robbery Barefoot Beach
* Money Express
fingerprinting expats is just more alice in wonderland stuff…..90% of crime is committed by caymanians
Why not fingerprint everyone who is applyiong for a driver’s license or passport?
Go ahead and fingerprint everybody. The police will then have to learn about the collection and management of evidence (an unlikely proposition), and then there’s those little things called gloves… good luck with all of that.
In the end, it’s all about the community wanting to protect its own criminals from prosecution due to the tribal nature of Cayman, and the utter failure of the police to effect law enforcement in this territory.
Perhaps the thugs have studied the Premier’s press release which discouraged robbing tourists and have reverted to stealing from the locals that the Premier does not care about.
What a shame, maybe the instructions from England to the Governor and commissioner are to reduce Cayman to an inner city crime level as quickly as possible. This type of crime can be reduced in short order if they had the desire to do so. I have seen other police departments in other places operate with less and do a more professional job. I don’t blame the commissioner for the crime . What I do blame him for is wasting our time and money with no results. Only excuses. This low life stick up artist that tried to stick up KFC should be in cuffs, not running free. Well we can be grateful the RCIPS isn’t arresting the usual suspects only to be released a couple of days later.
This is absolutely ridiculous!……he could at least have demanded a bargain bucket!
what a chicken!
Obviously not a smart guy. He should have asked for a chicken bucket.
