Police find gun and ganja during stop and search
(CNS): Two men, both in their twenties, were arrested on Friday evening after police found drugs and a gun in the car they were in following a stop and search. Officers from the RCIPS were carrying out pro-active patrols in George Town, in the vicinity of Godfrey Nixon way, a police report released on Saturday said, when they stopped the vehicle at about 8:30pm. Police searched the car and found what was described as “vegetable matter resembling ganja and a firearm”. Police arrested the two men, aged 23 and 20, for firearm and drug related offences and both are currently in police custody.

Good policing…it’s a pity tho that the death of my four year baby had to open the eyes of Cayman but i’m glad it did cuz i know nobody would be able to handle this. hopefully now that the police are taking their jobs seriuosly there might be some future for Cayman.
Good job, keep up the pro-active policing on the streets, hopefully we will get more and more resources for the RCIP to continue this pro-active policing too!
I might not always be happy with some of the things the RCIP does or does not do, but I am man enough to give them kudos when things like this happen. I wish they could make one clean sweep and rid us of the hardcore crime (e.g. gun- or other weapon-related)!
What happened to the days of settling things with your fists?

Fantastic news – personally I want more Bobbies on the road, stopping more vehicles. Go for it, RCIP, the public are !00% behind you, and the best of luck stopping these criminals. Every time I spot a police car with a flashing light I say to myself "Thank goodness!".
Big deal according to them this is one of the successful good news stories we don’t hear about. We now have got to the stage now of praising the authorities for every little thing and are infact doing what they are paid quite hansomely or suppose to do which is really sad.They keep telling us that there are a few guns in the public and are being passed around by certain gang members to one another these arrest keep dispelling and defying that idiotic theory. Yet no guns are manufacture in these islands we have yet to hear of some of these BiG Boys getting caught importing these guns and ammunition that end up in the hands of our youth and criminal element. Once of Prevention is better than a pound of cure. Jailing and destroy or youth and creating a new class of criminals is far easier than going after and arresting those in high places and connected to certain political parties who are creating and enabling this situation of crime pays to continue. If thats what we want then Congrats RCIPS.
A job well done!! – Some more of these searches will eliminate these road criminals. One plea is to target the inner back roads in districts -Areas like Belford and Lookout in BT could do with serious searches. A busy area that should be explored by RCIPS to eliminate the aliens that take roots for no good reasons.
Please help the Police by posting your problems and views on the blogs – don’t see and hide what will become a greater problem to our country in future, and see our young children go down the tube.
Let us hope they get a real jail sentence unlike the criminal who just got a suspended sentence for illegal possession of a firearm recently. Apparently the AG is not appealing this insult of a sentence? Is there a separate law for ex-policemen? In other countries that would be an aggravating factor for sentencing.
