Man crushed in GT harbour boat accident

(CNS): A man working aboard a vessel in George Town harbour on Friday was crushed between two boats. The 25-year-old man was taken to hospital at lunchtime with serious but non-life threatening injuries after the incident. Police said that the man was crushed when he attempted to push the boat away from a second boat that the vessel had drifted towards. The man reportedly tried to get between the two boats to push them apart and avert a collision but was crushed and fell into the water. He was rescued from the ocean and take to the Cayman Islands Hospital, George Town, where he is currently being treated. Police said that the incident is now being investigated by the Joint Marine Unit.

    Good intentions but not the smartest move on this planet.

    I've seen someone killed trying this in the Middle East. I was always taught – Never get between two boats or a boat and the jetty, better to have a collision then let the insurers sort the mess out than get seriously injured or killed.

      not the tender, it is one of local boat which i won't name as i know who it is till police finish the case.

      No it was not, it was a party boat that colided with a vessel tied off to the dock.
