The Cayman Islands Olympic Committee will make an official statement on Monday after Hyman, 22, has had a full medical examination. The final was won by defending champion Usain Bolt of Jamaica in 9.63 seconds, with his compatriot and training partner Yohan Blake second in 9.75 and Justin Gatlin of the USA third in 9.79. Tyson Gay of the US was fourth in 9.80.

Commonwealth champion Cydonie Mothersill who is also suffering a niggling injury begins her Olympic bid Monday when she races in the heats for the women's 200m today in heat three at around 1:30pm local time.

Kemar, I was waiting to see you get placed. Never mind get well and get prepared for the next event. You will be our Bolt until you beat him.  But, I mustalso agree with a former poster about Jamaica being a Brand. They have three Miss World under their belt,  the fastest man and woman in the world, the king of Reggae and the list goes on and on. They even have the  baddest man liock down in the USA Mr. Duddus Coke.  Cannot keep the Jamaicans down they are truly a Brand.  From a Jamaican who loves Jamaica dearly but also love living in Cayman Islands that I call one of my home.

I was thinking he got the jitters due to the enormity of the stage but I was wrong. Hope it's not anything too serious.

Okay….what I don't understand is why someone would give a "thumbs down" to my post. There is nothing malicious or insincere about it. Boggles the mind! I stand by my post – I was disappointed that I did not get to see Kemar. I was looking forward to seeing a Caymnian athlete showcasing his talents on an international arena. I was looking forward to cheering him on. I hope you recover soon, Kemar.
