TS9 becomes Tropical Storm Isaac

| 21/08/2012

isaac1.JPG(CNS): At around 4pm local time the ninth tropical depression of this year’s hurricane season emerged as Tropical Storm Isaac. The National hurricane Centre in Miami said that the storm was about 500 miles east of Guadeloupe travelling towards the west at around 17mph. With winds of more than 40mmph forecasters said further strengthening was expected over the next couple of days. Although the storm currently presents no danger to the Cayman Islands, on its current track Isaac is expected to pass across Cuba on Sunday afternoon.

The storm should move through the central Lesser Antilles Wednesday evening and emerge over the Eastern Caribbean Sea by Thursday morning. Tropical storm force winds currently extend outward up to 45 miles to the northeast of the centre.

Meanwhile, another weather system was brewing out in the Atlantic which the NHC was giving a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone. The area of low pressure was located about 550 miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. Although forecasters said that the shower activity is currently not well organizedenvironmental conditions appear conducive for development and a tropical depression could form during the next day or two.  This system has a 60 per cent of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves westward at about 15 mph.

Not agreeing with the previous commenter who called "Caymans" a Sodom and Gomorrah.  We Brackers know that the Lord will visit what He will upon us, whether no hurricanes at all or a Cat 5 hurricane like Paloma. Que sera, sera.

I just checked the cruise ship deviations. Allure of the Seas is going to JA and Cozumel, instead of St. Thomas and St. Maarten this week. Who cares you say?

    We all should.

If it weren’t for our lack of a dock, they might well be coming here. Bringing us many dollars in landing fees and, of course, sales for local businesses.

And why don’t we have a simple dock? Because somebody wants a bloated, over-the-top, Chinese monstrosity instead of the 2 concrete piers that we need.

I pray God doesn't bring it here. But guess what? WHY SPARE US AGAIN!?!? From the Sodom and Gommorah way of life here, to the evilness displayed by most of our politicians, this storm would actually be a welcome opportunity to get Cayman back from the clutches of the Hell that has been brought on us since IVAN. We have grown into a monster with a gut the size of a BIG MAC and the attitude and ego the size of a FRESH PRINCE HAIRCUT!
