Board chair confirms NYE liquor extension

(CNS): All liquor licence holders have been granted extended opening hours this New Year’s Eve. Mitchell Welds, the board chair, confirmed Monday that holders will be permitted one additional business hour beyond the regular closing times specified on their licences. “The extension applies to all seven categories of licences,” Welds said.  “But different categories have different closing times.” He also reminded business owners that licence stipulations will still be in effect. “Liquor sales and the playing of music must cease during the last ten minutes of permitted opening hours for retail, hotel, restaurant and beer/wine categories of licenses and all customers must vacate the premises before closing.”
