CBO will miss Mac’s annual address

| 14/01/2013

_DEW3817_1.jpg(CNS): After three years of major announcements and controversies during his annual ‘state of the nation’ address at the Cayman Business Outlook (CBO), McKeeva Bush will be missed as a key speaker at one of Cayman’s most widely attended business conferences. The new premier, Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, will be delivering the address, but given her minority government’s position, she is unlikely to stir up the type of surprises and controversies associated with her predecessor, who had helped to boost attendance at the event. However, organisers are planning to round off the one day conference with a political debate, which could see the former premier return to the CBO platform. Read more and comment on CNS Business

After three years of balogna, you still want more spam?

This is good news since the CBO was rapidly losing credibility as a result of 3.5 years of announcements by McKeeva that went no where and held little, if any, water. Nothing was acheived or realised so what were the point of these announcements ?

There is still no cruise berthing facilities, still no airport redevelopment, still no CEC, still no Shetty Hospital etc etc….yes the promises were made but where is the beef ?

Having said that, there is still a hugh deficit and significant reputational issues that are a direct result of the McKeeva Bush UDP !

So I say to the CBO – Keep McKeeva off the stage and you might have a reasonable turnout and might regain some level of credibility this year !

I know I wont be attending if CBO insist on giving Mac a stage of any sort! This is not just my personal position, I know over 15 people who has stated the same.

JuJu will be there. Do we need two goats?

Is that an oxymoron, Juju stirring up an audience?

A very uninspiring person, the only thing she stirs up is her travel account. Bush was bad, but this one is worse because she has many of the same faults but without any ability to excite!

That last few years we had a premier speak who was an embarrassment to the Cayman Islands, who had allegations of miscoundct hanging over them, who had an incredibly narrow based view of the world and who did not have anything like the exprience or intelligence they thought they had.  I am so glad it will be different this year.

Our worst Premier is a ledgend in his own mind living disconnected and apart from reality with the lowest level of basic competence. The only thing he cares about is me, myself and I. The most selfish politician that ever lived in these Islands bar none. Anyone that can't see that has no feeling, no sight and is disconnected from reality as he is. The guy has had many chances to do good for his country but put himself  in the way every time. You ask why I say these things? Because there are morons out there that think he has been wornged and feel sorry for him. You have to Harden your heart on this one. There are people that can be fooled all the time.

If they are so infatuated with him I am sure they can still let him speak.

Sorry but we have heard that man a little too much. Sure he’s a good speaker and all But … A little too good. Many should be nervous as the favors won’t be same anymore. Let’s hope and pray. Sad that he did not teach them much; good I mean. We now count on the Opposition and our 2 independants to make a wrong right and we should never find ourselves in this position we are now in. Please oppose the closing of West Bay Rd.to begin with and please go easy on the concessions we make. Caymanians are beginning to really feel and it’s a shame that many did not eat dinner tonight and maybe some expats too. Something needs to done ! Really !!

Hallelujah!!  The U.S. can no longer afford to be the world's policeman! Or the bastard of democracy!!  Or was that bastion? Now the wars can end in oil rich countries, the prisoners can be released from Guantanamo and extraordinary rendition will end!  Hopefully, someday it will also get so broke it can have a valid election.

  12. anonymous. says:

I highly doubt that he will be missed.

could we catch a goat and put it on stage instead?
