Bo Miller announces return to GT hustings for 2013

| 13/03/2013

bo miller (291x400)_0.jpg(CNS): Derrington ‘Bo’ Miller, a veteran of the campaign trail, has thrown his hat into the increasingly crowded George Town ring for the 2013 election campaign. Although Miller was associated with the Coalition for Cayman at the time of its launch, he will not to be seeking the group’s endorsement and is going it alone. “The only endorsement I need is that of the George Town people,” Miller said ahead of his campaign launch. In 2009 Miller polled 17.67% of the vote in the capital, an improvement on his 12% poll in North Side during the 2005 election. Miller said he would be launching his campaign on Thursday evening at the George Town Hall at 7:30pm.

An articulate visionary with integrity – what a concept!

Bo has been dedicated to the improvement of this country his entire life – in and out of politics.  He's also a man who cannot be bought and who truly wants to represent the PEOPLE, not any party or enterprise, bringing strategic thinking and action to the MLA.  What a opportunity to choose a better "future" for Cayman, rather than repeating past mistakes.

Seems like the negative comments here are from people who clearly do not know Bo.  Do yourself a favor and get to know him.  Attend any of his meetings, hear what he has to say.  I promise you will not be so quick to dismiss him.

I'd be so proud to have Bo represent, not only George Town, but Cayman Islands.  He is an intelligent and eloquent speaker.  Something embarrassingly hard to come by with most elected officials.  He's been a long-time advocate for building up the people (education, retraining), minimizing government and enlisting private sector and local investment for the future of Cayman, an environmental advocate — how can you not be on board with these ideals and goals?

If you want a better future for Cayman – for your children, grandchildren, and beyond… I hope you will really LISTEN to what each candidate stands for and make the right choice this election season.

We are very fortunate to have such a great pool of candidates this year – many of which I think could truly make the changes Cayman so desperately needs right now.  I hope everyone takes this responsibility seriously.  I know I do – and am grateful to have a leader like Bo Miller step up to the challenge ahead of us.

Best of luck Bo Bo.  We'd be so lucky to have you represent us!

I think Bo is a great man and I plan to vote for him..Why he did not run in N side is because its only one seat and Mr Ezzard going win that…But we could do well with 2 Miller in the house.

Bo offers no hope. Everytime he speaks, the first words out of his mouth are: "Cayman is gone!" as to say there is no hope for Cayman.

We need optimistic leaders – NOT someone who believes that Cayman has no hope for th future.

Listen to Bo carefully and you'll hear what i am saying.

Does anyone know what Bo does for a living aside from running for office – I heard he was an accountant but not sure if that is true…

    • Anonymous says:

He was selling cabinets a while back. And water purifiers or something. That is a very good question.

It wouldn't be an election without bobo in the race…

In some instances the candidates who have the most to offer and the Countrys interest at heart is not popular and do not win either. However  I supported Bo B o the last time and will give him one of my votes again. He is a dynamic speaker and will stand up for what is right. Good luck Bo.

  7. Gt_voter says:

Best of luck Bo. All politicians should take a page from this man. His message has stayed the same and he is a good example of country first governance. You have got my vote sir!

Please clarify. I know you said you will not be seeking their endorsement, but Did you have informal discussions with Coalition for Cayman about endorsing you?? Did they suggest that you shouldn’t bother apply because they would not endorse you? We need to understand.

BoBo the C4C bloggers out in force……they used you to get your support and ideas then refused to endorse you. How can any of us in GT trust them. Good Luck.

We don't know him in George Town! When have we ever seen him in the "hood"? Not today BoBo, well actually, Never BoBo!

  13. VOTING GT says:

Bo, you sure do move a lot.  North Side. GT- who ya for???

Sorry, I think you have heard the public voice over the past two years, we are not interested in any career politicians.

The voting sheep are standing up and demanding that all corrupt crony Boards be brought down, demanding that Politician jolly jaunts overseas stop, demand that bodyguards and drivers be abolished, demand gas-boy schemes and buddy pay-offs contracts stop, all departments accounts will be balanced, and this is NOT going to be done by the likes of what we have suffered from in the past.

Cayman public, it could not get worse eh?  So WHY give these old faces more MLA paychecks?

Elect the businessmen and women that know the value of a dollar, not politicians who love to spend them!

    No Mo Bo.

A true independent man!  I enjoyed reading his articles on CNS.  I hope he gets in the LA.

    • Anonymous says:

      Yep..an Independent thinker.

By that I mean there is no evidence of him thinking along the same lines as everyone else.

Come to think of it I am struggling of any evidence of him thinking at all.

Nothing I have ever heard from him – broadly or in person has left me with any confidence whatsoever in the man’s ability to think beyond ‘Bo is’.

      • Anonymous says:

That's just not true. I have no brief for Bo but he is a visionary.

  17. Anonymous says:
