Commuter traffic hit by five car pile-up
(CNS): Local traffic police were working hard to get traffic flowing again following a five vehicle smash on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway Monday during the evenings commute from George Town which closed the road. Although the relevant agencies were able to clear the five vehicles from the key traffic artery closeto the National Gallery relatively quickly, the major pile-up still delayed drivers on the their journey home. Police have yet to confirm the full details of how the accident occurred but a spokesperson for the RCIPS stated that none of the injuries sustained by those involved in the crash were thought to be serious in the wake of the smash.

It could had been caused by slow driving. Man these people are driving too slow on the new highway, they must think its the WB Road. The NRA shour erect signs saying that no driving below 35mph or you will be fined….and I mean they do this side by side too. Making it hard to drive around them.
How can so many accidents happen in such a small place with so few people?
Crappy driving with very few paying attention to what is going on around them…driving slowly is one major problem for sure, phones is another and sheer stupidity with peoplethinkingthey own the road and can do what they want is another. Wake up people…a road is a shared responsibility for one anothers health and safety..not just "what you want to do".
Would a church goer find some message about that in the bible please and post it? If this message changes at least one attitude to a good one then it is worth writing…
What needs to change is the driver talking for miles on their cell phone. Where are all the new police ? We could collect all the revenue we need in this country right at the roundabouts .I can't believe how lazy people are to signal their intentions. Once again if you going straight you don't need to signal .Unless you crossing a vehicle that is stopped and waiting on you to let them know where the hell you are going!!

What he wants he would makes ways to make things happen its the way of the world.
Money can be giving for this to happen to have a reason to widen the road connecting to the new high way to west bay guys. Once thiers a reason and its shown to be dangerious it will be done.

These folks should have been travelling To Red Bay. The DMS roundabout is the safest place on the island.
Or maybe a distractio by all the political huge signs everywhere.
Traffic pile up! In this case commuters had an alternate route. That is another reason why closing any portion of the WB road is thoughtless, reckless and no one with the interest of road users would even think of suggesting it.
Yet more justification for keeping both WBR & ETH open so traffic can be diverted if either one of them is closed.
To be fair, that part of the road is still open so traffic could have been diverted as you suggested.
More likely using mobile phone while driving or people just being dumb to drive!
