So sad to see another life lost on our roads and for what. Speed kills and the police need to do more. My prayers are with the gentlemans family may God comfort you all in your time of loss. Another life gone way too soon may his soul rest in peace. God bless.

One thing that people who bike can do is to mount small cameras on their bicycles attached to a handlebar or helmet, to document  aggressive driving and intimidation. If the offender is an  expat, the chances are he or she would be deported, but I am not sure what is going to happen to the local aggressive drivers, if anything. Knowledge of bike cam might stop some from harrasment, but not all. This is a worldwide problem, not just local.

what a mixture an abundance of bad drivers and a number of cyclist who think they own the road (Not that it applies in this case).

Most of the bicycles on West Bay Road at night don't have any lights, so how are you expecting them to have cameras?

Its funny how most of these posts have already pointed the finger to who is wrong. A lot of you are so self righteous it is unbelievable.

Until the POLICE has made a formal charge against the person they belive has committed the crime, I and many sensible people will wait to point fingers. Its people who write some of these posts that are the true idiots roaming society.

    God Help you all .

The way that the idiots ride their croch rockets around here its a wonder someone doesn’t die every day. I remember when those big motorcycles weren’t allowed. Seems to me the customs law needs to be changed and stop importing these motorcycles full stop.

    Sad news!

And every bit as sad to saythat much of the cause of the flagrant dis-regard for our traffic laws are as a result of the Police not enforcing the laws!…(except christmas time road blocks).

Some Mothers child and all the bunch of you can do is bla blah blah not even knowing the ful circumstances,.  Condolences to the Family.

To those of you who feel so strong against the POlice, go picket the POlice station.

No one should cycle in Cayman. The roads don’t allow safe riding and half the drivers are idiots. I biked for 10 years and had to give it up because it was clear that it was just too dangerous.

Because local jails don't have the capacity

When will police enforce the traffic laws and get those dangerous drivers off our roads?

I haven't seen police stopping anyone in ages and yet every day I am surrounded by idiotic drivers who speed, talk on their phone, put on make-up, tail-trail, have kids jumping up and down in thef front seat and the works.

Yet, the ONLY time I EVER see police doing any stops is in Northside, and even that took them forever to catch on that plenty people were leaving Rumpoint drunk on a Sunday after partying up there all day andspeeding through Northside like maniacs on the way back to town, being a danger to themselves and others………

Why are the traffice laws NOT enforced???? Why????

    • Anonymous says:

there are at this point 4 people (thumbs down) so content and well balanced that they don't care if they or a family member is injured by a lawbreaker.

As far as laws, there was a big huff n puff a few years back about the light on your bicycle law. Ha Ha. Also about people riding in the back of pick ups (ala NRA) more Ha HA.

People sure does like to blow hot air around here!  Must feel satifying blowing hot air. Maybe like farting.

Are you saying that because you never witnessed the police stopping anyone that this means that it never happens? Also like every other Gov dept the police have a limited amount of manpower and resources available to them. To expect law enforcement officers to catch every traffic offender is crazy(or at lease the ones in your point of view). Could the police do a better job in some areas? Sure, but that could be said about every law enforcement agency in the world.

      When? Never..
