apparently half the cameras do not work
a complete waste for money
Thisis an all time low in Cayman, if this don't stop one of these thugs is going to hurt a tourist soon, then what? Jamaica is a lot bigger with more to do than here and when crime became a problem it had a tremendous effect on their tourism product. I doubt it very much that we would handle the recuperations.
Poster 9:26 get in touch with Eric bush he knows their worth, like i said before the police need to switch to more foot patrols dress like normal people , and they are bound to catch some of these scums.
This is why I questioned the resources being diverted searching for someone who chose to jump into the sea.
Only in Cayman. Mugger flees scene in air-conditioned comfort…….
Where are the cameras worth in this? With the amounts spent we shpuld have a make and model of this alleged SUV and a possible plate number. Perhaps it was caught on film but they have to climb up to several cameras and see if they caught them on film. Days will pass by the time or if this is done. Face the reality which is we live in a country where the criminals jave the upper hand and we must as the Honarable Premier said to not become a victim. Do not enjoy walking anymore nor if you own a business that deals with cash gry and secure it by taking it home as they normally wjll steal your safe out of your business. We need to accept that there are onlya small amount of criminals that are costing 50 million plus a year not including Prison costs that are terrorizing the community. I thinks Baines is a master of illusions and should have a headline show as people believe his theories and continue to support his nonsense. Please do not start with the Haines train as that is not a vialble souloution nor was his elite DTF. Wake up Cayman.crime is a part of life for us.
I am sorry to say that it is only a matter of time before a tourist is robbed and injured by one of these no good scum bags. THEN that will be the final nail in our coffin. I can not believe that this island has taken such a turn for the worst; all in my life time!!! There is blame to go around for every one. There is a segment in our society who don't take their responsibility seriously as parents, we got the RCIP (who under normal circumstances can only do so much) are not doing a good job, and the Government (past and present).
I remember a time i used to brag to my friends abroad about how safe my island is and how you can walk for miles with out harrasment…now i can only pray they dont read our local news
Crime, social unrest and unemployment are usually the result of poor eonomic and social development of any nation. Now we see the outcome as we continue to increase the population and neglect our social development. We are now bordering on a failed state, rather island. Vision 2010 anyone? three years past due, results "F" capital failure.
We allowed the almighty dollars and greed to take presidence over the social development of our people. So very sad to see where it is leading us, our need for development is leading us down a path where angels dare not go (hell).
Years ago an government employee said that doing something about the young people having children so early would be depriving them of their social rights. Now their social rights has become governments' liability and the country's downfall (crime). That individual was near sighted. So exist the thinking in theses days.
