Victim escapes muggers in GT robbery attempt
(CNS): As the crime tally keeps growing, police are investigating an attempted robbery which happened this weekend behind a local restaurant in George Town. An RCIPS spokesperson said that police received a report Friday of the fumbled mugging, which took place at the rear of “The Corner” restaurant on Eastern Avenue. The incident occurred at about 5:45pm on Friday 11 October, when the victim went to the location to collect some money owed to him. While at the rear of the premises, two men attempted to rob him but he managed to get away and contact the police.
No weapons were reported to have been used in the incident and no injuries received by the victim.

It is a known fact that just behind the corner is one of the illegal lottery sites. The numbers is being played there 3 times per day. The attempted robbery story should be taken with a grain of salt. The illegal numbers games attract a lot of anti social activities and this is another area that the police should have a strong presence but then again who would you send the same police that hang out in the area and buy numbers give free pass to their friends when they see them smoking weed. No, no this islands need new recruits, preferable 50% European and the other 50% a combination of Caymanians and others from the Eastern Caribbean (traditional recruitment areas in the 1970s).
Please, man goes to the rear of Corner restaraunt to collect money "owed" to him! The crime here is stupidity.
