East End house fire under investigation

(CNS): The cause of a fire which has completely destroyed a home in East End is currently under investigation by officers of the RCIPS and the Cayman Islands Fire Service. Police said that at about 2:55 this morning (Saturday 19 October) the fire burned down a three-bedroom wooden house on Fiddlers Way, in the heart of the district. No one was in the house at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Police, including Scenes of Crime officers and fire officers, were called out to the blaze, which was extinguished by fire officers. However, the house was extensively damaged and it is uninhabitable.

A police spokesperson said the cause was under investigation by officials from the fire service and police. Anyone who has information about the fire is asked to contact the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

    God bless them. Now let’s see the community come together and make efforts to help out as quickly as possible. This is a traumatic financial burden. And I hope that they were insured. If not, we got plenty people with skills and supplies who could assist in homing them again. Our grandparents generation would have sure helped out in their time. Let’s get brotherhood back. Could have been our house. God spare.
