Cops raid illegal George Town booze joint
(CNS): A 41-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning for permitting his premises to be used for the sale of intoxicating liquor. Police raided what they described as premises on Shedden Road in the early hours of 22 December following reports that alcohol was being served illegally. In addition to his arrest two coolers containing liquor were confiscated along with a small quantity of cash. This is the second time in the last few weeks that the police have turned their attention to illegal booze sales as a similar operation was recently conducted off Sparky Drive where alcohol was being sold illegally at a late night session.
GT District Commander Chief Inspector Angelique Howell said this latest raid illustrated the RCIPS' commitment to targeting people who are carrying on these types of illegal activities within the Cayman Islands. The senior officer asked for members of the public to report any person or persons whom they know of committing these offences.
Anyone who may have information about crime taking place within the Cayman Islands are asked to call any of the police stations or crime stoppers at 800-TIPS(8477).

The laws on the sale of liquer are antiquated and need to be redrafted.
I frequent this place, I could go to other food places after hours to get a $10 meal and bump into some young punk drunk who wants to fight, i may even get robbed or stabbed. Not at this place, the person who runs this makes sure everyone who comes there behaves and is respectful to each other, if there's a problem, the person is kicked out and not to return. i also believe i am helping a young Caymanian (well he's not so young anymore) help feeding his family, XXXXXXXX! Just an FYI i will be going back!!!
Those drinking at these places should be arrested for their part in a criminal conspiracy and for handling the proceeds of crime.
I know a millionaire who frequents these "illegal parties" and has a lot of fun and spends a ton of money. He feels he is helping the locals. YES HE IS!!! He has been coming to Cayman for years, he loves Cayman and he loves the locals. He also knows many of the bars and restaurants are owned by paper Camanians who send millions each year "home", or offshore for their future, or for other developments. He tells me, "this party is fueling the LOCAL economy."
Does it grates when we can get all the advantages of being Caymanian but still get to send all our money away for when we decide to go home?

Whoever he is, he can be arrested for selling liquor but the thief who stole donations and fled to a British territory has not been brought back to face trial. What ashame, shows bias, don't it? RCIP fly overseas and bring back the criminals. Is that so had to do? Then deal with the speakeasy. We allow people to abscond and play deaf and blind that it happened.
