Cops hunt Brac booze burglar
(CNS): The police boss on Cayman Brac is appealing to the public to look out for someone selling booze on the island following a break-in at a local bar early Tuesday morning. Chief Inspector Franks Owens said that officers on the Sister Island have begun an investigation into a burglary at Coral Isle Bar, Southside Road West, in which the rear glass door of the premises was damaged and a number of rum and whiskey bottles were taken. Promising to keep any information on the break in confidential Owens asked people who may be able to help to call the police.
“If you see anyone with bottles os whisky or rum that appear suspicious or if anyone attempts to sell you any of these items please contact the police," said Owens. "All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality," he added.
Anyone who has information or saw suspicious people or vehicles in the area in the early morning is asked to call the Cayman Brac Police Station on 948-0331 or 649-0331 or Chief Inspector Owens on 516-6100

Could try an ad : "Wanted, cheap booze on Cayman Brac. Call this number (police station)". You never know, it could work.
My suggestion to the police : follow up on anyone who all of a sudden doesn't frequent their regular source of booze. It's simple, he's your man.
I thought they all knew each other on that island. How can they stoop so low to steal things from their brother and sell them to their cousin?

The state of da'Brac is sad, and most disconcerting , is the publics view of Cayman Brac.

Like seriously Chief Inspector do you really believe that they would go through the hassle of breaking into a bar to steal bottles of whiskey and other rum spices to then sell the liquor. I mean like who does that break in steal liquor n then sell it as big as cayman brac is. The bottles have a barcode that's unique to each bottle and each batch produced by the manufacturer meaning that once received by the customer it is then entered into the pos system. Simply put catch the thief with the stolen loot take em back to Coral isle scan each one a bam u got ur evidence against em either for handling stolen property until they admit the crime or have scientific evidence i.e fingerprints if not good luck getting the handling stolen goods charge to stick. The people of the Cayman Islands including the brac at this time the brac they more intelligent than that. Good luck catching the burglar/s!!!!! But please give us a proper description of what a "suspicious" bottle of booze looks like! Should we be looking for whisky or rum camouflaged as cognac in Luis-X111 bottles.
As an aficionado of Japanese whisky, I have had the odd Nikka or Hakushi that was suspiciously similar to Johnnie Walker. So rather than reporting supicious looking whisky, I recommend reporting only if it tastes suspicious.
I saw some suspicious looking bottles at Luca last night, do you think the bottles could have swam to Grand Cay that fast?
What the ch inspector is trying to say regarding suspicious, is this, the location you see this person or persons , time date and others present. Location could mean in close proximity to Coral isle, time and date means is referring to as is states and would show some connection to the burglary. Meaning that if the burglary happened on a Friday at 6am and then some short while later you see tom strokes just down the street with bottles of liquor similiar to what was stolen. Maybe it was the way it was worded that made me lol at first, but because I have a little experience in law I understood what was being said. But I am sure by now its a lil bit too late cause they been consumed from longtime
