Afternoon GT home invasion
(CNS): Police are on the hunt for two armed men who robbed an apartment in the Windsor Park area on Friday afternoon at gun point. The home invasion took place at Quality Place Apartments on New Port Avenue in George Town just before 3 o’clock on 22 August in broad daylight and while the residents at the apartment were home. The two armed men demanded money and a phone before making their escape. Witnesses reported that both men were carrying silver handguns but no shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery, police said. The men were said to be about 5’10 and 5’7 and one of the men, who had a light complexion, spoke with a Caymanian accent.
He had a slim build and was wearing a dark grey T- Shirt and dark blue ¾ jeans pants, with a black cloth covering his head, witnesses reported. The second suspect had a dark complexion and was of medium build wearing a grey T-shirt and ¾ black jeans pants, also with a black cloth covering his head.

Why is it that crime always escalates out of control under this government? While its leadership is totally wrapped up in their own importance and out of touch with the electorate needs or concerns.
Crime has been escalating since Hurricane Ivan. The criminals don't particularly who is in power. Don't try to make a political football out of crime.
I wonder why this apartment was targetted? What 'number' was it?
I'm a bit surprised these thugs have not been rounded up yet? I mean they stole a phone, shouldnt the police be able to track its location down already?

Did the 3 strike rule in California reduce violent crime – no, check the stats if you doubt – you have a draconian mindset – this must be tackled by removing the poisonous ideologies being permeated to the youth. The caribbean over is being gripped by this "bad man" culture coupled with poor parenting and lack of education. Parents cant discipline their own kids anymore because of this imported thought process that you cant spank and belt where and when necessary as the kids just call social services and or police.
Prime example – United States of America (extremely unruly and violent teenagers, who are not repremanded from and early age to learn consequense for bad behavior and respect for authority) (moraless society under the guise of freedom of expression where anything and everything goes)
Cayman needs to go back to the days of when i grew up and i'm only 28 by the way, where you didnt talk back to your parents or you would get your arse whipped royally! Didnt kill me, made me a better, more respectful human being – my parents were parents, they were not my play mates. Get it together Cayman and stop letting our policies be dictated by people running away from their own disasterous societies caused directly by idiotic policy.
Far too many people are being displaced and government will not provide jobs only social service vouchers. People need jobs not hand outs. It is better to lose the work permit fees than having to pay $55,000 per annum on a prisioner. Crime will only increase if no attention is paid to the job situation with young people. Party politics and the status grants of 2003 have ruined Cayman and things will only get worst if the government don't shut down giving vouchers to young people and give themjobs instead. Don't approve work permit when you have Caymanians needing and wanting jobs. I would agree there are some Caymanians who don't want to work but they are few and far apart. This stupidity of having our young people being idle all day smoking weed and getting into mischief because they cannot find a job need to stop. If people from as far as Asia can come here and find jobs as security officers and office clerks then why can't Caymanians do the same. Wake up government do something before you allow the disenfranchised youths of this country to destroy the country and as a result chase away the golden goose.
I am currently unemployed and I do not think about going out robbing people. I am thinking about which job to apply to next. I ask everyone I know what small job they need done from babysitting to errands to tutoring, resume writing to dog walking. My resume is out at every place I know and I start calling every busiiness back each morning at 8 a.m.
Round up the weed smokers and idlers and send them to Panama for a sum. I am sure we won't have any more problems with that set.

Government need to get control of this problem this is exactly how the crime wave began in Jamaica back in the mid 1970s. Government need to get to the bottom of this problem by whatever means possible. Stop giving young men and women social service money, instead provide jobs. Stop turning our young people into bums by ignoring their pleas for jobs. Government need to stamp out the notion that it's ok for our young people to smoke ganja in public and the police just don't care anymore. The same behaviours that I saw in Jamaica back in the 1970s is what I am seeing all over this country.

Oh, don't worry; the PPM is all over this. The subcommittee of Cayman's Response to Alleged Perpatrators (CRAP) Committee is hard at work developing the terms of reference for the RFP for a consultant to look into whether crime is really a problem in Cayman or if it's all a plot by the media to undermine the government. If, after 12 months of careful observation, the consultant determines that Cayman does indeed have a crime problem, a new subcommittee will be convened to determine what to do about the problem. You have to understand this is a process. But a tangible solution, if crime is really a problem, will be revealed in April 2017, the month before the next election, with a clear understanding that only the PPM will have the ability to implement the solution and that a vote for anyone else but the PPM is a vote for crime.
Yup, after having been off the Island for a couple of weeks this summer, I knew immediately I was back home in our 3rd world county when I witnessed 10 traffic offenses on my drive home from the airport, saw the garbage lined Newlands bypass and read the headlines on CNS!
I was thinking the same thing, can the RCIPS please look into any Braccas that were over on the main land this weekend, can't trust those crabs……
You have to be kidding. Every time a person is arrested now, they are identified AS CAYMANIAN! You can't blame your problems on Jamaicans or anybody else "getting status" anymore. You own this crime problem. Now solve it!

This is not a free country, let's get that straight. Half our population is here under permit rules so we need to enforce that first…clean up our backyard paperwork and then look inside to ourselves. I personally don't care about the accent, I just want all low-lifes locked up or gone.

Stop importing certain nationalities into the RCIPS. Most of them come from crime and filthy surroundings, so they are not going to help keep Cayman Clean.

Think law and order is the Governor's responsibility – the Cayman government just gets to pay for the police, not run them.
You askiing what PPM doing about it? PPM didn't send them out there! It's our own society that has raised them, know who they are and hide, encourage and facilitate them. Unless and until our society changes and refuses to tolerate criminal activity, then this is what we'll continue to get.
What indeed is the PPM doing for the betterment of these Islands? All we get from the PPM are excuses and inactivity….when it is not the FFR being blamed, it is some other excuse. PPM can't blame McKeeva now for the present state of inefficiency and incompetency at the Cabinet level. ALDEN, it's high time for your Government to start doing something for the people of these Islands!!

The PPM is waiting for the UDP government to appraise them of how they managed the crime in their time in office.You people out there need to start managing your unruly children from the early years and stop accepting money/stuff from them if you know they could'n't afford to buy it. Start monitoring their actions, search their rooms, and report to the police when you come accross something. Someone out there knows the details of every robbery/ crime that has been commited and should report it to the police. Then and only then will this stop.

If I was the RCIPS, I would be checking descriptions provided against who they suspect via Faebook, guarateed the suspects will have done the "Ice Bucket Challenge".
Carry the video's or pictures to the victims and see if they match who they saw or what their accents / voice sounds like.

Where are all these guns coming from? if anyone is found in possession of an illegal gun it should be a mandatory 25 years sentence, this should stop the little punks from terrorizing people and creating chaos in the society.
Theis is a very crowded neighbourhood so someone must have seen something, please tell the police what you saw. What is Cayman coming to? this was a very nice and safe neighbourhood in GT, sorry but New Port Avenue is not in Windsor Park, it is off Ketura Street.
This is becoming the Wild, Wild West, people need to stop this crime wave, we as a society need to take control. If this continues people will become too scared and then we will see the decline of everything in Cayman. People wake up before it's too late don't destroy our country.
