Owner seeks help finding stolen boat
(CNS): A local man is calling on the community for any information to help him find his boat which was believed to be stolen last night and is urging other owners to make sure their own vessels are secure. The boat went missing between 6pm Monday night and 10am Tuesday morning from his dock at Omega Bay in the Prospect Area of George Town. Anyone with information can contact Sgt. Hanna of the Marine Unit at 516-6194.

Prospect is one of MANY infested ghetto a$$ areas of Cayman today. Not worth living there or keeping your boat there.
The boat might be some where in Jamaica lets hope with the joint operation and cooperation between both countries it will be recovered and returned.
The boat is probably some where in Jamaica, taken by the three men who were able to flee from the police in South Sound. These people know how to nagivate the area without detection. Law enforcement need to notify the authorities in all the relevant jurisdictions to be on the look out for the boat
This is why the government needs to be more liberal with firearm licenses. Criminals here really have no fear, especially thieves, burgulars and robbers. Because their victims are most likely and probably inadequately prepared to deal with them. But when they have to wonder whether the consequences of their actions could include a hot piece of lead, they will think twice before rolling the dice and taking their chances. Cayman is getting ridiculous and the RCIPS cannot handle it. Most firearm license holders are very law abiding citizens and are rarely ever heard of getting into trouble. It is our God given right to protect our lives, family and property from people who want to try to do harm or otherwise, and it is our right to bear arms. We let the government take that right away from us, but I feel it is something that should be reconsidered.
Sounds like you want to go back to the wild, wild west days bobo. What we need is to train our children to respect themselves and others, have some integrity and pride, value an education as it is the key to employment and abide by the principles of the 10 commandments. That way you won't need firearms, because guess what, are you going to shoot everyone who looks suspicious to you? Ignorance is why we are where we are now. Focus on training each child the right way to live. You won't save all, but you will save the vast majority and we'll live in a better Cayman 10 years from now.
Yes 14:50 u call the Jcan police but ask your self this how many boats found in the Jamaica have ever been return Yes with these so call Jamaican contacts and joint operation partners yet they never seem to get around to returning all those stolen items found in Jamaica Why is that???? Recovery never happens because all this talk joint operation is pure and utter Bull$&%@ Our stolen items end in someone pocket or some bad guys trophy.
I live on the canal across from Oega BAy and a bit down from where the boat was stolen. Man, these thieves have balls and are braisen. About 8-months ago, they came and looked mine over right in my yard, while it was sittignon the trailer???? The Neighbors told me threre were three guys–kinda looked young and light brown to clear skin.
I checked the boat in afternoon and they had left two beer cans and a cigarette butt in the boat.
From then, I keep my boat empty of gas. Even though I live on Canal, I take it out and put on triler. I also disconnected a lot of stuff…they would have to be mechanics and read my mind to get this one? I know they reading this—-but I blaming it on the folks here on ISlnad that have boats, Secure it and disconnect it?
I thinking of buying one of them motion cameras with flash andput it on my dock….
Pity they can't find out who they are–But I am thinking thery aren't Jamaicans. These guys are professionals and YES, they have insider help here on Island…..
Fuel is a huge factor in this case……
As an ex-law enforcement officer, i was disgusted when i read aboutthe sting operation in South Sound that resulted in 3 Jam nationals eluding capture. We spent millions of dollars on boats which are fitted with a flur device (night vision), we have a helicopter outfitted with night vision equipment. These guys shouldve been caught on the outside of the reef. I think they were looking for a bigger praise "IF" they were all arrested on land as that would be another criminal charge "illegal entry". That charge cant be put them if they didnt physically touch soil (in this case sand). Now look what happened, they got away.
Thats how they caught a gentleman in East End a few years back (hovered near the vessel then hit the flood light) and guns and ammunition was recovered and he's doing time.
Now we have a resident who has fallen victim by having his boat stolen. Im 95% correct by making my next comment. Each time a cuban escapes from immi center and never captured, one or two things happen; they either get on the flight which i now happens or a relative is flown in from the US a boat is stolen, US bound. Check it out, read the articles (cubans at large and then boat stolen)
Its the same thing with these Jamaicans, boat hits reef and cant return to Jamaica, a local boat is then stolen.
#fFACTS
Yeah, that's back a yard now and dem fellow laughing all the way to the bank. That police helicopter would need to be up 24/7 these days to crimp those fella's style.
Not to worry, the 3 jam's Borrowed it on their next run it will be returned!!!
jamaica or honduras here we come ! more than likely jamaica for weed trade , those nice 4 stroke yamaha engines and mako boat will be traded for a little bush weed and crappy canoe to bring it back to cayman
I cant help but notice they picked the calmest evening in recent months to do this crime. Weather the past +48 hours has been very calm between here & Jamaica. This theft cannot have been orchestrated without local assistance within Grand Cayman. Are we to believe these wood be drug runners that evaded the RCIPS ( after jumping ship), had at their disposal knowledge of the boat , its capacity & fuel status , when it was un-attended and the tools at their disposal to effect hot wiring a pair of 4 stroke engines, then fueling it for a 200 mile run ????? If this vessel had only half a tank of fuel , this is inadequate to reach the west end of Jamaica . This is the focus the authorites should work on – Who is behind the local element in these boats thefts ?
Hurry put those cameras up on the reef by the main channel.
The guys who were capable of solving and investigating such matters have all left the rcips and all we are left with is the so called ""specialist " wid dey bigg connections who simply don't have an inkling but they living da big money life here in the colonies. How truly sad for this lickle place We miss u and your boys Derek Haines !
Your boat is likely in Jamaica. Contact the Jamaican Police and offer a reward if possible. These people love money.
Our boat was stolen as well. Was on bricks at the old government ramp, beside George Town Yacht Club
If anyone happens to see a white with grey stripe, 20ft centre console Sunbird named Valkyrie, please contact us on 916-7903
i think you might find that your boat was considered abandoned and disposed of, as you state on bricks looking dreadful for over a year.
Prostect is tuning into a ghetto infested with low lives. What about policing that area?
The ganja smugglers who got away-probably just got away again..
Looks like the 3 Jamaicans who escaped capture in South Sound the other night have made it out the jurisidiction and are now most likely back in Wesmoreland.
Way to go RCIPS.
this boat stealing is happening far too often now. the police are also no help in solving these crimes. Their attitude is ver non-chalant and ty re mos incapable.
Ya i can see those 3 men from the last big ganga bust get in and took of to Ja . Hurry go to Ja search for you boat , it might be part of your insurance requirments .
Boat owners should get the Spot Trace device. I got mine at Harbour House Marina. I have one on my boat and I know that at least it will notify me if the boat moves without authorisation. They're inexpensive and give you peace of mind.
Buy online saves you a hundred or so.
So sorry to hear this, such a sad state on what is now happening in Cayman. Hate to say it but your boat might be long gone and could be the vessel what transported the missing drug runner that were caught in SS back to their country, hope not but is a possibility.
