| 21/11/2014

(CNS): A 50 year old West Bay man appeared in court Thursday following his arrest on Tuesday in connection with a burglary at a bakery where he was accused of stealing food. The man was charged in relation to a break-in at the Caribbean Bakery in West Bay, as well as drug offence. The burglar happened at the local bakery and store last Thursday (13 November) and police said “food items” were taken.  A 55 year old male resident of George Town will also appeared in court Thursday charged in connection to the booze burglary which occurred at a Mini Ware House in the Industrial Park between Sunday 16 and Monday 17 November when a large quantity of alcohol was stolen.

Investigations into that burglary and other similar offences are ongoing and the RCIPS warned people that it is an offence to receive any goods which they believe may be stolen. If approached you should contact the police immediately.

Anyone with information on crime in the Cayman Islands are asked to call the RCIPS Major Incident Room tip-line at 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers on 800 8477(TIPS).

Feed the man! He was hungry and everyone is turning a blind eye to this problem.  People cannot get work, they are homeless, some of them. Please feed them.

This really takes the biscuit.  He should plead guilty, it is the yeast he can do.  He might be the only breadwinner in his family, but he seems to be a gluten for punishment.

A Silly comment.. but here goes:

Here are a few Work/Employment Hints:

if he can drive: School bus/garbage truck/delivery van driver

if he can talk: switchboard operator / disptcher / 911/bongo drummer / calypso singer/preacher/radio DJ/talkshow host

if he can walk: beach vendor/bartender/security officer/

if he can ride: horseback tours / bicycle tours

if he can swim: tour boat mate/fisherman/swimming coach-teacher

    donate blood / volunteer…..

Stop blaming others & stop smokin whatever – Get up and use that machete to do some landscaping & stop making excuses for past crimes… and breaking in people shops & homes!

The bakery is just an example – West Bay & Mt Pleasant is almost gone…

BUT – No Excuses…There are people here in their 80s and 90s doing active work!!

My guess is you are a lot younger than 50. Being 50 doesn't mean you cannot work. Wait until you are 50 and think back to this comment and you will understand how ignorant you are…

Thank you .  I'm 56 and feel like a dinasour. Some people make me feel like I  should just shut myself away and wait to die.  Sorry, I may be getting a bit flabby and wrinkly but I'm still a human being.  I'm not dead yet, have to work to eat and pay my way – and by the way, I work a lot harder than some half my age at the office.    There seem to be more and more robberies. The thing is, if you don't have a job for whatever reason, you still need to eat, drink water, have shelter, etc.  I think its time we at least had a soup kitcchen, or even a homeless shelter.  Many people are suffering in Cayman and its not always their fault.  Let's start having a bit of ocmpassion.  Drug addicts are humans and it is a terrible thing to go thorugh.  But for the grace of God, there go I.  You can get away with gambling the people's money away but get a harsher rap for stealing food.  This place is going like the UK was a couple of centuries ago, where you got hanged for stealing a loaf of bread.
