He will be 20 in December.
If he's strong enough to make it to Cayman as a 15 year old, then he's strong enough to make it elsewhere as a 15 year old. Feed them, treat them, house them for a night and then send them on their merry way.
This looks like the same boat as the last ten times. Do the plans come from Popular Mechanics or something?
No, Acme!
Elian Gonzales trying to escape again!?
Good luck bo bo!
Elian would have been older than 15 years by now I believe, anyway my suggestions is this, if the 15 year old child does not have a family member with him, the government should assist and give him political asylum here. Allow him to go to school and finish his learning and help him. I feel really sorry for him. I am sure the Children and family services would assist with feeding him while he goes to school and find a place for him to live. Community please support the 15 year old boy.
The schools in Cuba might not be fancy and mordern like the ones here but i can bet you my life that the education system in Cayman could never in one thousand years be compared to the education system in socialist Cuba, the Fifteen year old boy is waisting his life,he sould have stayed in Cuba and recieve an education.
A school boy's life in Cuba is very different than it is in Cayman. Children MUST go to school in Cuba every day unless they are ill, and then the parents MUST send a letter with the truth.
The only problem with Cuban children is that they do not have enough food to eat, and good food to nourish their bodies, but they are very respectable and smart.
I am not a Cuban but I lived there before and know quite alot about Cuba and its system.
Cuba is communist, yes but many things about Cuba is very good. The best preserved culture in the world. Really seeing the real Cuba is like looking back into time from the days of Columbus. If you appreciate those things; however not every one likes that and many want a better life. Cannot blame them for that.
It may not be welcomed by many, suggesting that we keep the boy, but I think we should. At least let us give this one child a new hope.
Then we should put at least 5 or 6 of our young children on the boats and send them back in the direction from whence they came, at least until they learn the difference between waist and waste.
One little mistake i made, next time i will not rush and will check carefully before submitting, anyhow professor, did you spot any other error?
In 100% Agreement he might not have been ok where certain priveledges are concern but he would have certainly be ok with his education is cocern..Cane farming is for the caymainns who claims the have degrees
Elian Gonzalez is 18 years old not 15, it was in 2000 that he was found on a floating raft 60 miles North of Miami Florida being the sole survivor. At that time he was 5 years old. His story had caused a US and Cuba controversy. He did loose his mother and Ten others that drowned in the Atlantic Ocean.
What seams like a laughing matter to you all. Is life treatening to them.
Please show your human side and help them. No asylum they asking for. Only water, food and any help to continue to try and make it alive to the United States.
