The message is very clear.DROP YOUR FARES and WE WILL COME!!!.Think outside the box for once.
Would you really want to Fly on any of the CAL planes to Europe without a parachute and life raft?
For those of us that criticize Cayman Airways, this is one time where we can actually see the positive effect of Cayman Airways. Even though this will probably be Cayman Airways’ death call on this route, it certainly shows what our little airline can do to blaze the trail for the big carriers to come here. This is one of the reasons, I support the national airline from a financial point of view. If Cayman Airways had not opened up this route and been successful with it you would never have seen United even think about it.
I remember back when they gave up Atlanta to Delta which was another lucrative route but now we get a Delta flight every day of the week. Whilst not positive for the airline it is good for the country. I would be even better if some of these big carriers would seek interline and frequent flyer deals with Cayman Airways rather than just running them off the route because unfortunately as is sometimes the case the big boys only stick around as long as it is making money. The Cayman Islands to them is only as important as to how many seats can be filled on the route. Despite what many people think in the tourism business think these carriers are not coming here simply to provide us with airlift. They are here for the season to make money and get out and hopefully throughout it get some DOT money to market the route so that doesn’t come out of their profits.. Luckily for us we can benefit somewhat from the season even if they leave us to starve in the off season.
Support your local airline, it does wonders for our economy, in season or off season!
cayman airways is the reason it is so expensive to get on and off the island….. unbelievable that they making a loss when charging $300 for 70 min flight to miami…..time to sell it off!

Take a look at the fares to Turks and Caicos Islands, see
how expensive it is to fly to/from there. It’s more or less the same flying time from MIA, the reason its so expensive is because they dont have a national carrier. Go ahaed smarty pants, get rid of KX watch your fare to MIA jump up when the US Carriers call the shots.
Mr. W, what is this Woop, Woop? if you don’t have something to write that makes sense, simply don’t post. And I don’t think this additional flight added to United Airlines to Washington would effect our National Carrier, Cayman Airways flights to Washington.
Oh well time to move on now. Can’t cry over spilt milk. This means Cayman Airways was doing something right.
I say CAL start flying to other major Airports and maney making hot spots such as the US east coast ie LA and Vegas. I also think they should hit the European markets as well.

Hit European Markets? Not on a 737
Last time I checked LA and Vegas are on the West coast of the U.S.
Woop Woop!
