Mac “sings” on YouTube in musical parody

| 05/09/2011

(CNS): While the Department of Tourism is using YouTube to portray the Cayman Islands as a holiday destination, an anonymous local satirist has put together a parody of local politics on the popular website. In a musical video that splices together clips from a Cayman27 broadcast, Premier McKeeva Bush "sings" a new song, called "What I see happening", with the help of backing music, a cockatoo, a keyboard playing dog and an appearance by the Muppet singing vegetables. The song plays on the premier's recent response to the auditor general's highly critical reports on government procurement.

The short video clip notes, "In no way did Cayman 27 or any news service have a part in this video. It is soley a part of an ongoing situation. Hope you enjoy McKeeva Bush singing so beautifully."

This is actually posted on his facebook page. I suggest that is because either he has an 'executive facebook assistant' and he never sees it, or he is desperate for any type of attention. He has 1647 friends on Facebook. Yes, One Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty Seven friends. If he spends just one minute on each of those friend requests, that is 27.45 hours of facebook time. What else could he have been doing with that day to serve you Cayman? And that's not including any other time on there, or LinkedIn, etc etc.

Man of the people? Hell no. Man for himself. Next election, if he gets voted in again, he'll continue to exploit his private playground, XXXX.  If he gets voted out, another self serving fool will get voted in, XXXXX. Learn lessons from around the world Cayman, Libya, Egypt, Syria etc etc. While you are under the protection of the UK, that doesn't mean you don't have a voice, quite the opposite in fact. If all 55,000 on the Cayman islands rose up against Mac, the UK WILL listen.

Special Prosecutor Helen Garlick's UK team is still sifting through the warehouses of ill will in T&C, and will be active there until their next elections in 2 years.  Misick is rumoured to have fled to DR to avoid extradition, the rest of their MLAs are still under the microscope.  Massive asset freezes were announced back in July.  I have no doubt that the UK team will be relocated to Cayman some time in next 2 years to carry on once they finish up there, and armed with everything they know now.  The patterns of expenditure, meglomania, and avarice are so similar in both countries and the team is now trained up and ready to redeploy in the region.

Thank you all so much for your kind regards & support! I've had a good laugh reading what everyone else has commented and feel greatly satisfied that everyone else is having one too!

I felt like we all needed a break from this ongoing tension &  and enjoy the smaller things in life. I know it doesn't solve the all the crime and dissapointments happening around, but it's nice to be alieviated for a few minutes!

Thanks for spreading the video around and I hope everyone gets the chance to hear it at least once… I guess in theory that's roughly 50,000 people here? Remember to check the description in youtube as you can always download the song for free (or donate if your feeling generous!) and jam to it in your car, ipod, or in the …office?

    Bless

I think your video was good and very well put together but dare I say it… a "little tame".  With all the ludicrous things that man says and what with his increasing desire to be seen on the TV rambling incoherently I have no doubt that the material is there to be used to create a video which would shadow over anything on Youtube! Keep up the good work and please make a new video again soon!

I am amazed that people actually find this funny.  This is disrespecting the elected head of state of a sovereign nation.  This is an indictment of not Premier McKeeva Bush but also the people of the Cayman Islands.  Premier Bush did not elect himself to the Legislative Assembly.  He was put there by Caymanians voting in a national election.

When foreigners see this kind of thing all they do is point their fingers and laugh at all of us.

Let them laugh, it was his district lunatics that got him where he is.  He is what he is and no one can change or make him different.  If he is the gentleman Priemier, we are still searching for one.  I guess the PPM are to be blamed for his atrocious grammar and explosive behaviour.  Get it right in your head, what he is, is what he will forever be.  A Boy.

    • Anonymous says:

I certainly did not vote for him.

He was not elected head of state, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly.  His peers in the Legislative Assembly put him to be head of state.  Sovereign nation?  I don't think so.  Last time I knew the Cayman Islands were at the mercy of Great Britain as a British Overseas Territory.  You want to be called sovereign?  Then gain your independance.  But in a "somewhat" democratic society, free speech is a right.  This man that calls himself the premier has put himself in this situation to be insulted.  Oddly enough, he reminds me of another Bush who used to be President of a larger country.  Get some thick skin and move on.  If he doesn't like it, then he should resign.  The premier is the one that is so obviously in politics for his own personal gain.  The world doesn't view him as incompentent and uneducated based on this video, the world views him this way because he makes himself sound and look that way.  Awesome video!

    • Anonymous says:

Chill out poster 14:14 even the Premier finds this video funny.  Caymanians have the ability to laugh at themselves, even the Premier, after all he is Caymanian despite what you and others think.  Don't get offended by this as I can assure you the Premier is not.  Enjoy the light hearted moment and if for just one second let us be Caymanian again.

Now, while I think M. Bush is possibly the worst thing to have happened to our islands I can't quite fathom why he is the constant person on the recieving end of our dislike, jokes etc….when they are all useless PPM & UDP. None of them are worth the first $10 they collect every month. They equally deserve their own Youtube video and made fun of.

The PPM members may have their faults but they do not go on the way that  McKeeva does with blasting of the press for what it reports.

Whenever Kurt or Aldin speaks they speak with civility and do not  berate the UDP in the manner that McKeeva berates the PPM.

I think that McKeeva needs to sing another song called '"Blame it on the PPM" as that is what he has been constantly repeating for the last two years.
