Attacked goat might have been molested

| 09/06/2009

(Cayman 27): A local man’s goat is brutally killed. A tragic tale to begin with, the death becomes less animal cruelty and more sinister and twisted — that’s if you believe the owner. Wayne Wright told Cayman 27 reporter Kenneth Bryan that two weeks ago he found his largest goat stabbed in the stomach. What he didn’t tell the Department of Agriculture’s vet, Colin Wakelin, at the time was that he believes someone had sexually molested the animal before killing her.

"If people have problems with other peoples pets/livestock, is it so difficult to speak to the owners rather than kill the poor animals?"

I’ve spoken to mine any number of times to no use, and it has gotten to the point of my yelling across the fence at the dogs to be quiet.  My other neighbour has also gone over and complained.  HOWEVER, ignorant peasants that these people are, they just don’t care about their neighbours and continue to let these dogs bark all day and all night.

    • It wakes me up throughout the night and screws up my workday.
    • It wakes my children, and therefore me as well.
    • It devalues my property (another neighbour is selling her house and reports that the largest problem in showing the house is the neighbour’s dogs – when possible buyers hear that, they walk).
    • It means my yard is unenjoyable since the barking only gets worse when someone is nearby (presumably the dogs are lonely or hungry)

Speaking to the owners is easy – it’s when they are too stupid and self-centered to do anything about it that the message falls on deaf ears.

No doubt that’s when at least some animals get killed.  I am not of the sort to do that, but I sure wish I were.  Either that or the owners, which would be more fair.

So that’s my daily rant… thanks.

"This country needs a serious purge of certain elements Now"

How will you tell what elements you need to purge?  It’s not like they go around with Tee-shirts that say "I boinked that curried goat you’re eating" so that you can tell.

"Unbelievable and indeed, pathetic responses to what is actually a serious issue.  Animal cruelty here is rife – I know several people whose horses have been killed (by fire and by poisoning); and I know there have been a substantial number of dog and cat poisonings too"

I agree.  The protection of animals here definitely needs to increase.

Another side of the animal coin though is that if you want to have dogs, keep them in your yard well-fed, watered and quiet, and no one is likely going to want to kill them.  Dogs tied up without food or water or otherwise neglected will understandably bark to no end, and EVERYONE wants to kill those dogs, even though it is not their fault. [Killing the owners comes to mind, but that’s frowned upon]

Of course, who’d wanna hurt a cute little goat?  Sick Fxxx that that person is…As to the thought that someone was shagging the goat before killing it, well they ought to be tossed in with the child molesters and women abusers like the social-deviant rejects that they all are, and beaten to a pulp and treated like the goat.

Remember what the masochist said: "Meow"! Enough said…

I agree – but would add that some of the dogs, cats and indeed horses I speak of were kept secured in their owners yards, were well fed, watered and indeed loved – well I guess I should say loved by the owners but not the neighbours who complained and then (when they found nothing could be done becausenothing was illegal) decided to take the law into their own hands and poison the poor animals.  I just don’t get it – what did those animals ever do to anyone?  If people have problems with other peoples pets/livestock, is it so difficult to speak to the owners rather than kill the poor animals?

I don’t know if it was a UDP or PPM goat – but my hope is that it was an independent. If it was not,  the authorities may not prosecute any offender for fear of failing to appear politically neutral.

     This is disgusting.

How again does this become a (somewhat ridiculous) political argument? Does no one see the proven relationship between animal abuse/molestation and violence towards humans? Is no one concerned about the fact that IF this is accurate, that it may very well be nothing more than a matter of time before the individual/individuals responsible turn on someone’s equally defenseless child?

For an island that already has so much to hide with regards to violence and abuse against women and children, I’m glad there is so much humour to be seen here.

Unbelievable and indeed, pathetic responses to what is actually a serious issue.  Animal cruelty here is rife – I know several people who’se horses have been killed (by fire and by poisoning); and I know there have been a substantial number of dog and cat poisonings too…. I cannot believe how such a potentially serious issue can be turned into yet another political charade.

I dont care if the perpetartor was UDP or PPM.  Sexual molestation of a goat is unlawful. It should be investigated and the perpetrator dealt with to the full extent of the Law.

    Talk about Ram Goat!

Maybe there was a new induction into some kind of local cult. Better call on the church heads to investigate.

This perpetrator must be caught immediately before he has the opportunity to start the spread of the H2N2 Goat Flu strain!

I wonder if this was caused by the PPM losing the elections?

    • Anonymous says:

Definitely caused by the UDP being in power. This government, like the last, is responsible for everything under the sun that happens on their watch.

      • Sav/New says:

Yeah the new government is starting to drive everybody nuts apparently!

I believe that – just like Kurt passed a law that no expatriate could fish from the shoreline without a license (and then didn’t give .01 cent to fund its enforcement) – Mac should pass a law that prohibits these goat loving PPM supporters from doing these types of things.

Funny……and everyone forgets that the poor animal was brutally killed…..yes certainly shows the humane steak of the comentators…real funny
