Governor admits special police operations went too far

| 19/10/2009

(CNS):  Following his length statement defending Operations Tempura and Cealt, the governor has said that the investigations may have gone too far and that mistakes were made. Speaking to News 27, Stuart Jack still tries to justify the discredited and costly investigations by saying that the allegations that were made about various things against various people need to be cleared up. The UK’s top official also continues to deny his responsibility for the spending and points the finger at senior civil servants. He said overall responsibility for the police lies with the governor, but he said the financial aspects lay elsewhere.

In an interview with Tammi Sulliman, thegovernor refuses to comment on the remaining allegations and says he would have preferred if so much money had not been spent and the investigations had gone another way.

The ball should stop rolling sometime  somewhere – and soon!  And if he’s the UK’s top official,  His Honorable Excellency’s (hehe) office is where the buck stops bucking.

He would have preferred if so much money had not been spent, yet he used his special powers to push the funding through when the previous government refused to continue funding the operation. Does he take us for fools?

Was that an answer?  How can you have overall responsibility? And no responsibility? For the costs at the same time?

I need to check on what responsibility means.

It is either termed limited or overall.  Pretty clear.

But overall can also mean:   smock, or loose fitting housedress

The public didn’t have any responsibility loose or otherwise and we’re paying for it all.
