Family seek help for reward fund for missing mother

| 01/03/2011

(CNS): Anna Evans has now been missing for more than one month and her family is trying to establish a reward fund in order to encourage people in the community to come forward with information regarding her disappearance. Anna was last seen around lunchtime on Thursday 27 January at the George Town landfill, where she worked. Since then, despite an extensive police search with the assistance of an international canine unit and the wider community, there has been no trace of Anna. No arrests have been made and no information about who is responsible for her disappearance has come to light.

The family and friends of the mother of five will be hosting a fund raising event on Saturday morning at the public beach on West Bay Road and are asking people to make a $5 donation to the reward fund. A spokesperson for the family said that Anna was a “great, loving mother who has been taken from her 5 children, mother and siblings, who are heartbroken.”

“We are inviting Grand Cayman to come join hands together at the Public Beach and make a small donation of $5.00 towards this worthy cause. To date there has been no arrests or information of those responsible for her disappearance,” they added.

Reward donations can be made at CNB #01210099

I knew Anna personally and I do agree with 10:48. I personally feel, Anna was last seen on her Government Job and I think CI Government should have to take care of Anna’s 5 kids until they all turn 18. This is ridiculous. We have 5 kids here who dont have no closure of what happen to their mother. I pray that somebody will come forward with some information so that these kids will find comfort.

    I miss you Anna!

Oh? did government father any of those 5 children? government give her a job with a regular paycheck and benefits including free schoolcare and free medical and dental care. i pray someone comes forward with information to give her family and children some closure.

It’s a crying shame that Anna”s family has to have a fund raiser to initiate a reward regarding information of her disapperance.
She was employed with the Government, She is a Caymanian but most of all she is a mother of 5 children. Why aren’t the Cayman corporate organisations sponsoring a reward? I would think this matter is more important than the gala dinners, art shows & cocktail parties that they throw thousands of dollars at each year.

Please let us all ban together and show these 5 children that their mother is IMPORTANT and no stone should be unturned in order to find answers and bring closure for her family.

My heart goes out to Anna’s children.  It would be nice if crime stoppers would offer a reward – perhaps they are?  And, if anyone has information, perhaps they could give it up for free and give the reward to the children.  I hope and pray they find her soon. This must be absolutely terrible for her children and the rest of her family.

My Heart goes out to Anna’s children & family members and though its been a month since she’s gone missing I’m sure they’re pain and anguish is still as fresh as the first day they reported her missing.

I personallydidn’t know Anna but what I do know is that she is a Caymanian, Mother of 5 children and worked for the Cayman Islands government so why hasn’t Crimestoppers, Chamber of Commerce or some of the wealthy businesses on the island stepped up and offerrred to sponor a reward as was previously done when they all rallied around and offerred $125,000 reward for information regarding Estella Roberts.

Anna’s disaperence is yet another tradgedy and may go unsolved if we as a community don’t find the necessary resources to aide the investigation.

I personally will be supporting the fundrasing event but I think the local businesses can show their support as well.

This family needs answers and its every person residing on this islands civil duty to assist in any way possible.

Why is it that Money, should be the only way to go for some one to talk about the missing woman. Anyone who knows something should be ashamed of themselves for not even giving police a hint. If you have to collect money first, remember it will be blod money. Do the right thing. Talk to the police.

So there s a criminal out there and the police, once again is not able to  know who they are, where they are. Obviously this disappearance is an action of a criminal and nobody knows anything about Anna’s whereabout nor about who is responsible for it.

This should be on the headlines every single day!
