Motorcycle rider arrested over killing of cyclist

(CNS): Police have arrested a 24 year old man in connection with the death of Steve Powery (57) who was killed in July when he was hit by a motorcycle as he rode his push bike near Club Inferno on Hell Road in West Bay. The motor cyclist was himself in hospital in a critical condition for several weeks after the smash. Following his recovery police said they arrested him on Friday afternoon, 15 November, on suspicion of Causing Death by dangerous Driving. He was released on bail pending further enquiries. Powery was killed on impact after being hit by the motorcycle which was understood to be travelling at high speed in the early hours of Sunday 7 July.
