Teenager stabbed in the back during fight

| 18/11/2013

(CNS) Updated: The police have now confirmed that the woman who was taken to the George Town Hospital early Sunday morning with an injury to her back after she was involved in a fight with another woman was only fifteen years old. An RCIPS spokesperson said at the weekend that the police received a report at 1:39am on 17 November that a woman had sustained a back injury. She was then  taken to hospital in a private car and treated for a non-life threatening wound. Police responded to the report and said the matter is under investigation but no arrests have been made. In the initial report the police did not state the age of the victim. The spokesperson stated that officers had not established what type of weapon had caused the victim's injury.

Anyone with information about this or any other crime is asked to contact the police at 949-7777 or Crimestoppers 800-TIPS.

Shut down these "after hours" underground clubs and "hang outs" that are serving beer and liquor to the underaged.  Stabbed and pregnant before the age of 16…….way to go Cayman!

This has nothing to do with Cayman, it has more to do with the lack of good parenting in these children and teenager's lives.

The more that's done to keep the teens at home, the less they will want to be home.

Leaving them to rebel and become far worse.

When they want to do something despite the restrictions, they WILL.

Maybe some of you parents should probably pay more attention to your children, and instead of ignoring them, maybe, try RAISING them?

Set a good example by being the type of person you want your child to look up to.

Remember that a child is a product of the household, and they mimic what they see, so if you do or act a certain way…. There's a likely chance your child will do the same..

So don't be a bad parent and become shocked when you're children turn out no better.

The parents NEED to step up and be better role models, and better parents, and maybe this will no longer be an issue.

Don't act shocked – Cayman youth are running wild and have been for ages, and the grown-up versions are even worse.  A teenager getting in a knife fight in Cayman is barely news. Hell, it's barely interesting.  XXXXX  Anyway don't act shocked, just focus on arming yourself for defence as Cayman swirls into anarchy.

Yep, and until parents will feel legal actions and consequences for the actions of their children, nothing will change…………In other countries, the parents would be charged, due to lack of supervision, hell, it even may be interpreted as neglect!

I can't believe how many posters seem to be surprised/outraged at the fact that this 15 year old was out on the streets at that time of night. This has been going on for 20 years or more. Just ask the schoolteachers who know more about the goings on of these youngsters than many of their parents do.

A 15 year old is a child, not an adult woman.

Where did this fight take place? At home?…………cause that's the only place a 15 year old should be at 1:30 a.m.

Take the parents to court for shirking their parental responsibility.
