Man admits careless driving in fatal smash
(CNS): A Bodden Town man has pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving after his younger brother Egbert Robinson (24) was killed in a car smash two years ago. Eduardo Robinson (27) admitted driving about 14 mph over the speed limit on a chip and spray road in Prospect on 29 October 2012. Robinson who, is hearing impaired, suffered serious injuries himself in the car smash after the Nissan Sunny he was driving hit a wall on Mangrove Avenue. His brother was pronounced dead at the hospital following the early morning single vehicle collision. The court accepted Robinson’s plea and set a sentencing hearing for January next year.
As Justice Charles Quin adjourned the hearing he noted that while the court hears many sad cases this was a particularly tragic case. The court heard how Robinson and his family had suffered significant genuine remorse as a resultof the crash in which he had killed his younger brother.
A social enquiry report was ordered in the case and Robinson was bailed to appear on 22 January 2015 for sentencing.

What he must be going through mentally is worse than any jail time, I hope he's getting the right support to deal with it.
I hope and pray that the Judge in this case will order a suspended sentence and counselling instead of jail time, because this young man have and will continue to suffer the rest of his life.
Sending him to sit in nthward will be like a death sentence for him because he will have too much time on his hand to re-play over and over what he did wrong. The guilt will consume him.

I have truly never met a family more loving and supportive, even in the face of something so devastating; your strength is an inspiration to all who know you all and we are hoping and praying for a favorable outcome in this case. I sincerely hope the judge sees that the loss of yet another son won't benefit anyone and that Papie is able to stay with his parents rather than serve prison time. As another poster stated, the two were inseparable and always together – Papie will never live another day in his life without waking up to the pain of what he did, and knowing his baby bro isn't there by his side, that is punishment enough

This is really sad, in circumstances like these a judge will have a very hard decision to make whatever the outcome.
I dont know this family personally, but send them my love. the driver will carry the burden forever and I am sure a sentence is not necessary in this case. They have suffered enough. Please let common sense prevail while sentencing Justice Quinn.
I personnaly know the brothers. They were always together and had a great relationship. I personally think Eduardo has suffered and will most definitely suffer from this for the rest of his life along with his family. May GOD give you guys peace. RIP Egbert.
