Women and girls offered free HPV vaccine
(CNS): The Public Health Department in conjunction with the Cayman Islands Cancer Society is offering the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine free of charge to all females aged 9 – 26 years. The vaccine will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the Public Health Department, officials said. The vaccination drive runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., starting on Monday, 7 June until Friday, 11 June. The vaccine can prevent some types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV) that cause most cases of cervical cancer. Researchers believe the vaccine can offer protection for a considerable period of time and recommend women are vacinated before they become sexually active.

I think people need to be aware that there is no way to test to for HPV in men without doing a biopsy. In other words, a sample of skin would need to be removed from the infected area….. There are a number of different strains of HPV and some of them are cancer causing. A man can be a carrier and not know until his partner tests positive for it.
Lets say 2 people, who’ve been in relationships previously, meet and marry then decide to have kids. At this point they discover that 1 has infected the other with HPV. Years later they are no longer together and the man is in a committed relationship with someone else. He now knows that he is a lifelong carrier of the virus…
This isn’t necessarily a disease associated with promiscuity and rational thought needs to prevail when making the decision to immunise. Children have minds of their own and they will grow up and do things that their parents probably swear by all that is holy they wouldn’t do. Giving them an injection now that might save them in the not too distant future doesn’t seem to be such a bad idea.
My daughter took this vaccine and she had no side effects with any of the
dosage.
People really need to look into the side effects before they take these pills. It would appear that the potential harm far outweighs the benefits.
It’s an injection, not pills. I had it a couple years ago & aside from tenderness at the site (as with any injection), have had no problems. If I remember correctly it is given as a series over a couple months. You are right though, people should do their own research & discuss their individual situation with a trusted medical practitioner prior to deciding. No two women are in the exact same situation in terms of health status, sexual history, etc.
Kudos to those enabling this to be available free of charge.
Like any vaccine, if you have an egg or nut allergy, or have had an adverse reaction to any other vaccine, alert the atttending physician. For most of the population the desirable side effect is a marked decrease in cervical cancer!
It’s time to nip this foolishness in the bud. What are we now, guinea pigs?
I don’t trust "Big Pharma" and we should research this thoroughly before we expose our kids to unethical doctors in the payroll of these drug companies.

It hasn’t been tried that’s the problem. We live like hell and wonder why we are riddled with all sorts of exotic diseases.

The problem is that after all your encouraging care, your daughters future husband, unkown to both of you, may not have ben so righteous.
Unless she is planning to become a nun and therefore celibate…. it really doesn’t matter. All it takes is one time with one person & even if that person is their lifelong partner, who knows what their status was before they met your daughter?
