Stabbing in East End

(CNS): Police are appealing for witnesses with any information regarding a serious stabbing which occurred in East End early this morning. At around 4:20 am Saturday, 15 November, the 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call from a resident of John Mclean Drive reporting that a man had come to their house looking for assistance and appeared to be suffering from a serious stab wound.

Police and medics were deployed and found that a 31-year-old man had sustained a very serious stab wound to his abdomen. According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the man was taken to hospital and has undergone surgery. His condition is said to be critical.

Detectives from Bodden Town have launched an investigation and would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident. Anyone who can help should contact Bodden Town CID on 947-2220. Officers are currently working to identify the location of the stabbing and would particularly like to hear from anyone who comes across blood or something similar that may suggest an incident has taken place.

Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS). All persons calling crime stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.

    It seems that our police officers have to sit in air-conditioned offices while the criminals are roaming freely doing whatever they want to do.  We are paying sufficient officers to have better patrols for preventioin rathen than cure.
