CPR was conducted as the body was brought to shore and he was conveyed to the Cayman Islands Hospital, in George Town where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Policesaid that his next of kin have now been informed and at this stage there would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.  A post mortem examination will be carried out.

I know the man. I use to live side-by-side with Michael. He has a girlfriend here. I feel very sorry for her and her son. Interestingly and strangely, I was on South Sound beach the same day he went missing. I went there to meditate to just clear my mind. I saw a Police boat and surfers. I was right by South Sound Cay by a monument dedicated to some man, and I saw a lady by Ms. Lacy’s house, picking up what appeared to be stones. I thought she had a bag of shells, so I approached her and asked her if she found a beautiful one. She looked at me and said nothing, but kept picking at the ground next to the water. I continued walking along the beach and thought to myself what a strange lady. At first, she appeared from a distance to be a young girl. But when I approached her, she was an elderly lady. She must be mental I thought to myself. Why take the time, so much devotion in filling a plastic bag with small stones? Very strange to me. All last night, I was haunted by the thought and being there alone by Ms. Lacy’s house. What if something happened to me. It was in the evening hours. There was a awkward feeling about the whole event. I was there about an hours time I wouldsay and then I left. I was later shock to learnt that at the same beach where I went to meditate, adjacent to South Sound Cay, a man drown. When I saw the man’s face on news 27 yesterday, I was even more in a shock, because I knew him personally. He use to live right next to me. My wife said that he just met his girlfriend T some days ago. News 27 said that he made a last song. I wonder what the lyrics of that song was? I wonder what was on his mind before he died? In the East, they what is on your mind before death, determines your destiny. It just shows you in life how unexpected things can happen. Michael was 43. He died very young.

May God have mercy him and may his soul rest in peace.

My love goes out to his family, T and his love ones.

Yes that is not a good area to swim .DANGEROUS  CURRENTS is there ALL the time .I have been there before and had to leave.Because of currents  it is not a good feeling to be drag about.

That is a bad area for swimming with unpredictable currents and large shoals. I’ve even heard of hammerhead sharks in the area but I don’t know if that is a common occurrence or if it’s even true. Maybe a "dangerous currents" sign could be posted in the area.
