Gunshots resound in West Bay for second night

| 27/07/2011

(CNS): For the second night in a row police were investigating reports of gunshots being fired in the West Bay area on Tuesday evening. Police confirmed that they received a report on Monday evening but found no evidence that a weapon had been fired or that anyone was hurt. Last night, the uniform support group was spotted in the district in and around the Hell and Watercourse Road area, where sources tell CNS that at least two gunshots were fired around 10:30pm. Police confirmed that they had again received reports of gunshots being fired and were investigating those reports but were unable to say if anyone had been injured or arrested.

Anyone who has any information about crime in their communities should call George Town police station on 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477 (TIPS).

Wow people actually found this shocking? …

I didn't however let's face it criminals who were involved with previous shooting are being    released so what made ya'll think that the shootings had come to an end? …

    Ya'll sadly mistaken! …

Last year the Murder rate and Armed Robberies rate were a tie and all of a sudden as the criminals were either one by one gundown and killed and or arrested it sorta died down (key word died down not competely stopped!) and then the armed robberies started to sky rocket because the criminals were arrested and now as they are being released it may or may not start back but whatever it is I hope no more innocent people have to suffer for the bad people who choose to do things horrible things.

Father God, we need you on our islands badly this place is loaded with pure evil thoughts, evil people and evil hearts.

We need you dear father God.

    We really do need you.

    Amen!

Yes same sentiment here. I was wondering if the would be shooters are trying to see if a bullet is faster then a sup up Dodge Charger. that in itself is mindblogging. Michel Lemay

Someone is practicing how to shoot straight, and I don't want to be around to find out who!

Let's hope that this was all the gun criminals dispensing their shots in the bushes or eliminating each other – this would be good news!!! then we will have no more fears.

  8. Caymanian Boat Captain says:

I just hope that the new police cars comes with an extra shipment of "crime scene tape" in their trunks. God knows, they will be needed much of this in the coming months with all that has been happening lately !!

  9. the_real_bobo says:

why would you want to close off west bay? that ga be the most ignorant thing ive heard yet, especially seeing that most of the crime happening now has been taking place in town and more towards the east. west bay is has just as much good and hard working people as any other district and i am one of them

    • Alan Nivia says:

Now you come to mention it, let's at least have some permament roadblocks with cameras.

Hopefully those flashy new muscle cars will help them find out where they actaully came from!

What a place we living in now. This I'm sure will go no where like everything else, why you ask?

Because the RCIPS are more concerned about buying new cars than solving and reducing crime. XXXXX

    • R.U. Kiddin says:

I'm sure our police driving these new cars like them better than the old ones, but the higher-ups bought them, not the drivers.  Now if they will only buy them some needed firearms……..

i gave a thumbs up for your post. but i have been thinking about this subject albeit not at length but i would much prefer to have licensed store owners with guns than to have SOME of these laughable looking officers running around strapped to the T. 'not today BO-BO' we will then have a diffrent issue on our hands then. in all cases the police are there after the fact and having them with guns wont curtail crime. i am cool with them but i think it is not sensible to think that someone RESPONSIBLE for you safety can keep you safe if they are not around; arm our honest store OWNERS; ah ha! but now there is a conundrum the store owners have to be there and a few other issues arise BUT its a start.
