Small earth quake recorded south of Cayman

(CNS): Around 91 miles south of George Town, Grand Cayman some 6.2miles down the earth was moving around on Saturday night. According to the US Geological Survey a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded at around 10:30pm in the Cayman region. The epicentre was located at 17.967°N, 81.442°W the USGS survey stated. The quake was 168 miles ENE of Swan Island and 233 miles west of Montego Bay, Jamaica. Meanwhile, as few felt the local quake a powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 struck eastern collapsed buildings and caused a number of deaths, in eastern Turkey.

(CNS): Police were called to the scene of Grand Cayman’s latest armed robbery at around 8:20pm on Saturday evening (22 October. An RCIPS spokesperson confirmed that officers had received a report of an armed robbery at the China Village, Venezia Plaza, North Sound Road, George Town. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident in which masked men armed with what were believed to be handguns held up the Chinese restaurant.  There are no descriptions at this point and it is not clear how much money if any was taken or in which direction the robbers fled and no arrests have beenreported.
