Auditor’s report makes international media
(CNS): The warnings in the latest report from the auditor general office has already been picked up by the international media, with Bloomberg and CBS among those already picking up on the Associated Press coverage of the report. Noting Alastair Swarbrick’s comments about the lack of leadership, political interference and the "significant risks of abuse, mismanagement, fraud and corruption”, the AP article has also cited the Cayman Islands premier as calling for action. However, so far McKeeva Bush, who is currently overseas, has not yet made any official comment on the report. Quotes attributed to him calling on the deputy governor to address the issue were actually made by Governor Duncan Taylor.

YES, YES, YES and YESSS!!! Excellent. About time we get some international media attention.
Hog wash, who's afraid of the big bad wolves namely Bloomerg and CBS, they need to clean up their own back yard first.
Who released the details of the story to the Associated Press – very difficult to confuse ” Governor ” with “Premier”, and “Taylor” with “Bush”………..
The foreign press needs to know the truth, before they print their stories. The problem here is our Premier and his cronies.
Someone needs to correct the false reports that the Premier is taking action. It is the Governor that made the comments which are being misrepresented as the Premiers.
Most feel that the Prenier is part of the problem not tpart of the solution.
Nice to know he is "traveling" again. How much is that costing us?
Anyone know where he has gone now?
Nowhere in particular. He just needs to get rid of some of those extra fuel taxes.
You can't report this huge error to AP and ask them to publish a correction regarding Duncan Taylor actually making that statement. This error paints the Premier in the wrong light – actually makes him look like an angel when he's not!
Not good for business Cayman!
Sometimes we need to say what is the truth and not just what is good for business. Cayman will get just as much attention for doing the right thing,
I completely agree. But the point I was making (perhaps badly) is that Cayman is going to lose a lot of business through such bad publicity caused by bad management/governence, and it will take a good long time to build up the kind of good reputation we will need to establish once again before business will be good again… and we can only hope that we will be given a second chance.
this kind of thaught process is what got us in this mess to begin with
if it had been dealth with years and years ago we would have good governance now and a thriving econimy, yes even in these bad economic times remember we are responsible for electing G O O D people to office and if they do wrong, out out out. take their assets that cannot be explained.
I ran a search on all three websites and found no article about the Auditor General's Report. CNS, perhaps you could post links?

Could the Press Secretary of the Hon. Prmier – Mr. Charles Glidden issue a news release clarifying that the Premier has not asked the Deputy Governor to prepare a report on the AG's report. This is what he does normally when mis-information is reported in the media.
