Mac to host public UDP meeting in George Town

| 11/10/2011

(CNS): The premier will be hosting an open public meeting in George Town on Tuesday evening, UDP party officials haveannounced. McKeeva Bush as well as George Town Legislative Assembly Members Mike Adam, the community affairs minister, and government backbencher Ellio Solomon are inviting the capital’s constituents to come out and hear their UDP representatives discuss a number of topical issues. Changes to the rollover policy, the introduction of the ten year work permit, the amendments to the law allowing for pension withdrawals and the Youth Rehabilitation Programme will all be open on the agenda. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm at the Mary Miller Hall, Red Bay Primary School. For more details contact the GT MLA Office (UDP) at Alissta Towers in George Town or call

From the pic in the Compass this am, it dont look like no 250 people to me – or did they take the pic too soon or too late?? Maybe the other 200 people were on the platform behind the camera eh?

I am curious to find out how many people were fool enough to waste their time with this and actually went to the meeting.

judging tby the thumbs….looks like we have the 3 remaining supporters of the udp with us…

UPD readers are smarter than PPM and find something better to do with their time than reading the one sided PPM supporting crap CNS puts out. They are out doing more productive things for society. I UNFORTUNATELY have to read this crap for work.

      • Anonymous says:

Grow a couple of brain cells, will you? The people are sick and tired of the abuse of the Government in general, regardless of whether it is PPM or UDP.

      • Stiffed-Necked Fool says:

"I unfortunately have to read this crap for work" – yea right, pull the other leg while you at it mate. You work for udp? You still only 1 of the remaining 3 udp fools left!

"are inviting the capital’s constituents to come out" Why are they only inviting 'Towners? Is that where they are losing the most ground now politically? Will it only be MAc, Mike and Ellio on the platform? if not, then why only invite towners? Are they planning to have other district meetings later on? if so that may prove to be worse for them than having one big meeting coz the smaller meetings will show the dismal support in each district – at least by having one big meeting you can try and fool some people into thinking that UDP still has decent support. Anyway, i'm not a political strategist so what do I know, i'm just thinking off the top of my head here.

But really, like some of the other bloggers have noted here, if theyhave time to hold public meetings and attend a function in East End yesterday (as i heard on Rooster this am, prob some social event no doubt), then why can't Mac find time to meet with the PAC?

If we are paying you to hold public meetings, then we are also paying you to attend and answer PAC questions!

To guarantee a turnoout at their events, the UDP arranges for the churches to bus people to the venue.

Churches are well in bed with the UDP, bearing in mind they were the main beneficiaries of McKeeva's still-unaccounted for "Nation Building" slush fund…

Given the quality of the comedians scheduled to appear and the countless jokes to be told, one must assume there will be a charge to attend this show.
    Anyone know how much?

we have an idea why don't the PAC venue be moved to the Mary Miller hall. 2 Birds one stone. Who wants to hear a political speech right now. We would rather our premier come clean and then let's see. right now it's very difficult to take him or elio seriously.

  16. Anonymous says:

Good to know he is back, so now he can address the issues he ran away from, answering questions on his role in the loans fiasco and others!

No doubt this meeting will be his opportunity to do some rabble rousing about the people trying to discredit him, whilst in fact he could do exactly that by answering the questions put to him in the enquiry room, if he has answers of course!

  17. Anonymous says:

Please someone tell me what has he got to say that he hasn't before.

I have one request for the "PRIM [hot] AIR Baloon".  SHUT UP already.

You have nothing to say that makes any sense and people are getting

sick of your outrageous ranting. I hope this meeting will be the one

where you'll tell the people you are going to retire. Not here but in

some far away country. Please Please Mr. PRIM-AIR do us this

    favor.

The Premier can find time to host a public meeting but not to sit before the PAC?  Maybe the PAC committee members can attend and ask him a few pertinent questions from the floor!

    • anonymouse says:

Tell you what Mr.premier you go meet with the PAC first and then we'll go to your meeting. We know what your'e going to say anyhow and I want to be able to digest my food so I don't get sick to my stomach. Your strategy don't work anymore. You will do what you want anyhow. And your bigmouth Fave oolio want to be enforcer don't have a clue. Poor Mr. Adams getting suck right in with you 2 jokers. no sir have no time to waste on your new guess what ideas. Should have it in West Bay !

      • Save face says:

Agree 14:28 – The BEST thing Mike Adams can do to save face is to resign.  He was once a respected businessman in this community and I'm sure he can get work.  He should not go down with this ship of fools.

    • Anonymous says:

      GREAT IDEA

Lets all make it known to Macrel that those who attend the meeting will have a bombardment of questions, lets see if another situation will suddenly come up that requireshis presence to be somewhere else on the globe besides Cayman…..

  20. Stiffed-Necked Fool says:

Yea, dis all George Town needs now – NOT!

Please do us a favour and take 1 of your usual holidays from Tuesday morning!
