(CNS): Minister of Health Mark Scotland took the newly appointed members of the Health Services Authority Board on a visit to the Cayman Islands Hospital recently where he said they toured wards and met with hospital staff. The Minister by visiting the health facility so soon after being appointed they were able to gain a good understanding of the services on offer and the challenges the hospital management face.
“Staff members were also able to share ideas for improving services and to highlight immediate equipment needs,” Scotland said. “Providing affordable and accessible health care for our residents is surely one of our top priorities, and I believe that these board members will rise to the challenge. They all bring unique abilities to the table, and I am grateful to all for accepting this responsibility.”
The members of the new Health Services Authority Board of Directors are Canover Watson, chairman; Peter Young, deputy-chairman; Tommy Ebanks, Wanda Ebanks, Raquel Solomon, Ryan Walrond and Nina Banks.

Best of luck to this new Board of t he HSA, you will need it in trying to clear up the mess left by the last Board led by Pastor Al.
My question and concern is this. Who among this new Board has a lick of experience in health care?
As a Caymanian that depends on the health services efficiency to ensure that I have even basic health care and the fact that if we do not stem the massive loses that teh HSA create, I fear that I will be broke from the taxes that will have to be raised and die when I get sick because of appointments such as these that have no experience in the job they need to do.
It does not help that the new Minister has already gone on record as saying that football is more important to him than health care for the people.
Changing the Government appears to give us the same old thing. when will this foolishness end?
